Should the Dolphins have a "Cane Day" to celebrate National Champions 10 yrs ago?

Miami Dolphins, as a corporate entity, are tone deaf. The "celebrity owners" shtick, LIV nightclub skybox, and now this ill-conceived Florida Gators reunion (on the Hurricanes home field during the 10th anniversary of Miami's own 2001 national championship). This is all part of the Miami Dolphins' continuing battle with the Marlins for the title of "Worst Sports Franchise in South Florida."

I think a big part of this is Ross. He genuinely seems like he doesn't understand his customer base or his market.

Football fans don't give a crap about Gloria Estafan! Yet he makes such a big deal over this stuff. The guys is clueless when it comes to owning an NFL team.

The Canes dont need to be honored they already were when they played. For every td sack int etc

Perhaps an army of angry Canes fans can fill the rest of the empty seats that day

:bobdole:

Oh, and fun fact: The Canes play Georgia Tech at Sun Life the day before this game.

You'd think he could hear the outcry from both fan bases with those big Dumbo ears of his.

This is why I had planned on attending the Broncos game. I'm already back in Lauderdale for the 'Canes on Saturday and worked everything out with flights, etc., to catch the Dolphins game on Sunday. But no way in hell am I gonna go sit in the hot *** sun and watch Tim Tebow, Urban Meyer, and the rest of those underwater basket weaving majors be "honored" for anything.

I'd rather salute the Taliban.

we shouldnt be honoring anybody. We held an event here, and the gators just so happened to be a part of it,and won. We shouldnt do this for the Gators, Canes, or none of that. Phins first.

You have a BUSINESS partnership with the University of Miami. 25 year lease. That's money in your pocket and that IS 'Phins first. The Miami Dolphins should absolutely embrace the Hurricanes' fan base as they always have. Some fans of college football aren't really fans of the NFL and vice versa. But both teams are playing in the same stadium. Reach out and give people more reasons to come to the stadium. Turn college football fans into NFL fans and turn NFL fans into college fans via YOUR community. Split the revenue.

I don't know why some can't figure this out. Business 101 ladies and gentlemen. I don't know why some of you insist on such a divide within a community that has always bonded together and been about LA FAMILIA. This city and this metro area are like no other in the country when it comes to coming together...unity, family, etc. USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.

This was before everyone know about all the money etc that UM players/coaches have taken over the years. I bet the Dolphins PR department is glad they do not have to clean up both messes.

I guess they haven't heard about the 34 arrests the Gators have in less time period.
