Here we have veteran guard Josh Sitton, signed as a free agent last season to finally lock down the left guard position and considered league-wide as one of the best at his position, when healthy.

Ultimately, that was what did him in. After the regular season opener against the Tennessee Titans, it was revealed Sitton had torn his rotator cuff. That shoulder injury placed him on IR, and the Dolphins’ two-year, $18 million investment in the veteran was wasted.

Depends on who is the QB.

If they are trying to be competent this season with a competent QB like Tannehill then yes, keep him.

But if they cut/trade RT and don't draft a QB in round 1, f*** it, just tank for Tua I guess lol.

Selfishly want him to stay for the sake of talent.

Makes sense to move on now instead of a year from now, if a suitable replacement emerges. We already need a RG and future C.

If you keep Sitton and James, your not going to end up with a top 5 pick. Barring another injury riddled season like 2018.

Correct. It depends on Flores' 'goal' for '19. To me a decision on Sitton and a few others will be our first hint

I'd keep him. He's only under contract for this year and while expensive for a guard($7 million), with all the other expected cuts, they will already be $50 million under the cap. No need to create an unnecessary hole. Also, there will probably be at least a couple O-line rookies he can mentor. Only way I cut him is if he isn't healthy

Sitton is the one player who I have mixed emotions about. I love the talent he brings, when he's healthy. The key words being, "When He's Healthy". I'd be nervous about paying him and he once again gets injured. For that, I'm leaning towards releasing him. Miami has become New England South and for that reason, I feel comfortable, Miami will finally put together a good offensive line. They were always able to find serviceable Lineman in the mid to later part of the draft. I also think Brendel has a chance to be an above average replacement for Sitton.

Absolutely no way at all to even make any kind of suggestion whatsoever concerning Sitton. It is completely dependent upon what moves this FO is planning on making.

We all know that all the changes can't be made in one year.

never should have signed him in the first place. please cut and let Gase sign him on a 1 year deal.

I think it depends what he brings in the room to the squad. Everything I've read makes him sound like a great mentor to the youngsters, a solid talent when he is healthy, and keeping him would mean it's one less hole to patch.

Regardless of whether this is a tank, you don't want your QB running for his life and your new O-Coordinator unable to run his plays. I'm leaning towards keeping him and adding to the depth behind him as insurance (something the Dolphins NEVER adequately do on the O-line).
