In what world is 5-5 a winning record?
Should the Dolphins move the team?(in the state of Florida)

Bottom line its the fan culture. I see it with some fans on here and see it on TV.
We're quick to jump ship. If you look at some of the "fans" posts on here you'll see incredible negativity. I understand being upset with the season or how things are unfolding but some of its ridiculous. Yes, it's passionate to see some negativity but some fans just revel in it and it seems to be more associated with Phin Fans than others.
For example, one of the most loudest more passionate stadiums in the NFL is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs who have been atrocious for most of the decade. Raiders fans are the same. They have a fire and loyalty that Dolphin fans lack.
Does moving the team help that? Not necessarily. It's the culture of our fanbase.
If you think about the fanbase in terms of the "12th man" then we are certainly not holding up our end of the bargain.

I am not from Miami but I think its in poor taste to criticize someone else's hometown. I've liked he Dolphins since Shula Csonka, and Griese when I was a little kid. It was more for the franchise and not the city. The city is not my cup of tea, but I understand people there love it.
But what is a fair comment is that So Fla does not support the team well. In the 70's into mid 80's, the Orange Bowl was a huge homefield advantage, much like KC, GB etc are today. The fans were on top of you. Sun Life is a horrific stadium and our home field advantage has dissipated. If I understand correctly, the plans for upgrading the stadium would involve bringing the fans closer and hopefully bringing some of the crowd noise back. If I remember Mike Dees' press conference on that, I believe he said that. Correct me if I am wrong. Hopefully, Miami gets that approved soon. We need it.

I don't know if its changing demographics or what, but the passion down there is severely lacking. Its so demoralizing to see fans of other teams over run the stadium. Just awful. The point is that even when the team has a winning record, the fans don't show up. Has nothing to do with the end result. If they do finish 7-9, the fans lack of attendance at home games is a major factor in that result.

Moving the team anywhere in FL won't solve the problem. Moving it completely out of the state will be the end of the Miami Dolphins and I am not a fan of that idea at all. What we need is a better smaller stadium with seats very near the sidelines, much like the Orange Bowl used to be. We then need a coach and a QB that can really turn this place around and start winning the games we are supposed to win.
It doesn't matter what color you are, the last 10 years of Dolphins Football are something that not many people will get passionate about. The majority of fans from the 70s, 80s, and 90s have either moved away from the state, or passed on. The new generation fans have no identity with this team because nobody wants to identify with losing.

What an offensive thread. Dolphins fans are fine. There is a different sports culture in So Fla. More to do with geography than ethnicity, you racist. People don't walk around going to sports bars. There's no mass transit. It's a sports fan culture that's diluted by distance. If you were making a case against some of the sports teams then it's fair, but this is a legitimate football town (area). Dolphins have held their fanbase strong despite being the least successful of any of the pro teams (Panthers aren't really a professional sports team, but even they made the Finals) in recent years. The defending Super Bowl champs are the Saints and they've never been known for a rabid fanbase. Year after year now we've been saddled with an incompetent organization yet you'd try to point the finger at the fans who have stood by this team. What a pathetic point of view.
i dont think race has anything to do with attendance. there have been people of spanish descent living in miami since ponce de leon discovered florida. the dolphins sold out games in the 70s and 80s with spanish living in miami. what does race have to do with attendance? i think a lot of our attendance problems have to do with growth of miami city. football is no longer the big draw down south. the dolphins used to dominate the city. then came cocaine, jimmy jonsons canes, then the marlins , then south beach nightlife then the miami heat and in the meantime the dolphins have become an average football team.
