I found this article about raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

"Opponents simply avoid him. I mean it. They divide the field in two, determine where Asomugha isn't and then decide where the next pass is going".

I'd never heard of him before but It seems like he is truly a stellar corner that could cause us trouble in the passing game.

I wish we had someone like that in our secondary.

its one guy out of eleven on the field. i dont care how good he is, it shouldnt matter. run the ball.

yeah dont be worried i think well run it down there throats
ronnie and ricky 100+ 1td each

i hope we get him in the offseason he will make us a contender instantly

He really is one of the top cover corners in the league. It would be wise for us to stay away from him, especially since we've had problem with pick sixes lately.

No, I think Aso should be worried about Ricky and Ronnie running over him.

Ronnie isn't playing one on one against him. If he tries he will find himself on the ground like every other person who tries to tackle him.

Running the ball should be vital in the Fins game plan, we already showed how quick a game can change momentum if you give a stupid touchdown away on an offensive interception.

Run it down the gut all day, pay back them Raiders for embarrassing us last year on the ground. Turn the tables, and Asu...whatever won't be a factor since he will be stuck on Ginn the entire game. If the Phins can execute this game should be easy.

asomugha is one of the elite players in the league. Outside of miami he's one of my favourite players. Its amazing to watch one player take away half the field from a team. He never has good stats as teams just refuse to pass at him. I would love him in miami, he'd be well worth the cost.

I think we should cut Ginn some slack this week if he's covered by Asomugha. He held Steve Smith last week to 1 catch for 9 yards.

Its not that easy. Aso doesn't require safety help since no one passes towards him, so that safety is going to be the 8th man in the box all day long. Especially considering that our line hasn't run-blocked that well as of late, this is setting up to be one hell of a defense-fest. I think our best bet is going to be to send Ginn on some fly routes over Aso and toss it up. Just need to do something to pull that 8th man out of the box......

Yes. Fortunately, he's about the only thing they got goin on that team. IMO he's just about the best in the league. Sucks his 6 years in the league have been the Raiders worst 6 stretch ever. I really feel for the guy cause he deserves better.

If they leave Ginn one on one all day with no safety help I guarantee you that Pennington will hit him for at least one big play.

GO PHINS~!

Asomugha has not faced a WR with Ginn's speed . . . even tho Ginn is not as refined on the route running as a Steve Smith . . . Ginn's speed can blow by Asomugha . . . I best they go deep atleast once or twice on Asomugha on Sunday . . . worse comes to worse, it serves as a punt if it is picked . . . but I haven't seen Ginn singled up w/o the safety rolling towards him all year . . . and I don't expect that to change . . . teams respect that mans speed.

The reason you play a guy like
Asomugha

is so you don't have to put in safety help. His talent shuts down receivers and allows the defense to put the Safety(s) else where on the field. Its best to not take the chance, and run the ball toward him and up the gut.

if we throw at asomugha more than twice we've failed on offense.

maybe a little challenge for the OC... but really i'm not stressed at all, this season, we've had so much players contribute and they always lived up to the challenge when their number was called. Fasano, bess, camarillo, ginn, ronnie, ricky, even our 3rd string RB makes plays and our 2nd TE who was a collosal bust last year (martin) made a few nice catches. It's going to be an interesting game nonetheless especially on that side of the ball because the raider defence sure is a tough one....
