PFT posted that the Giants are looking to to get rid of Shockey for a 2nd rounder and a current player (Saints refused to give up a 2nd & Roman Harper).

Maybe we can give our late second and someone like Goodman,Tillman, Daniels,Bell ,etc for him. Or straight up trade Jason Taylor for him (since Strahan is still undecided about next year)

Anyone think we should move on Shockey or is he too much of a risk with his attitude and disruptions???

Isn't he injured alot? I don't think he is worth a pick and a player.

The Giants are stocked with pass rushers, they don't want Taylor.

Shockey has turned into a better blocker than reciever, we need a TE that can catch the ball.

Wow! First I've heard of that in a while. Kind of flies in the face of recent reports from the NYG front office that said they had no intentions of trading away Shockey and they were happy to be getting him back. So either they are full of it and just said that to try and up the asking price, or this rumor is completely bogus. Either way, I don't see us even considering going after him. Not at a price of a 2nd plus a decent player. I don't think we'd be willing to straight up trade away one of our 2nd rounders for him. Too big of a contract, risk coming off injury & possible attitude. I'm sure someone is dumb enough to offer up a high price for him. Just won't be us.

Who would want that cry baby? He's yet another lockerroom cancer who is a me-me-me type of player. He's not the "team player" that we need.

Jfoxx,

I agree with what you said...but Shockey does seem like Parcell's type of player. He's a baller who likes contact and has a nasty game play attitude.

I like the way he plays the game and he hasn't really been THAT injured...he's played in 14 -15 games every season except '03 when he missed half the season with a back injury I think.

I would think that he would be under control with Parcell's but can't be sure...My only real concern with him would be that he might be a hindrance with our new QB's since we don't have and established one....That was supposedly a problem in NY with him & Manning and some believe Manning didn't start to flourish until Shockey was out.

I dont think it can happen

1st off I have liked J Shockey and his game since he was at the U. I think he would be a great fit in MIA. He can block but can also catch . I think he just wants out of NY so he can play and not fight with little Eli in the huddle. But its not going to happen BP wouldnt give a 6th round for him. I dont even think he would take him for free with NY paying his contract while he plays for us. Do you guys not remember that Jeremy Shockey is the one who called Bill Parcells a **** a few years ago in an interview. I believe it was in 2003 but IM not sure. But he did in fact call our great TUNA a ****. So sorry but as much as I think we need him and wouldnt have to waste a draft pick on a TE Its aint gonna happen SORRY

I think Shockey is a great player but for what there asking i dont think its worth the trouble. He of course would be a major upgrade from what we got at the TE position but he is such a head case in my opinion it wouldnt be worth it. And not to mention its not a coincidence that young Eli Manning played alot better when he was out of the lineup at the end of last season, and we dont need him to disrupt the development of our young QB. He would absolutely love to play in Miami since him and about every other player from da U train there in the offseason, but i dont think Parcells would want him on his team.

If we had a veteran QB that had complete command of the huddle, I'd say let take the risk with Shockey, but with our QB situation, I don't think it's a good idea.

True DTMFF, and for the record, I've liked Shockey back since his U days. I'd take him on our team any day. Just not at the price that would come with him in $$, picks we'd have to give up & potential friction with our young (whoever it is) QB we have on this team. If they cut him or are willing to take a mid to late rounder for him ..... I'd consider it. But that just won't happen, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Shockey call Parcells a **** direct quote from Magazine

Parcells had had questions about Shockey effort and play and Shockey came back with this AND I QUOTE "Lets see how much Parcells wins this year. I'll make him pay when we play them. The ****." Shockey denies saying it but he was young and angry and also has an attitude so Im sure he did. I think he could help the team but BP will not bring him in no matter what. Anyways I just wanted to give you guys the exact quote of what shockey said of Bill

Not only does Shockey talk alot, he can't seem to stay on the field.

Why would we give up a second and a player for an injury prone TE?

No, he is too much of a loud mouth and his missed games due to injury last year (when isnt he injured - he has never played a full season) proved last year that he hurts teams more than helps them.
