First off, I love me some Pouncey, even with all the "Free Hernandez" and bully-gate stuff that has occurred, he is a top 5 center in the league and in my opinion and I think he is going to do great again this year. With the ridiculous amount of money that Alex Mack just received, do you think we should draft a center who can play guard, or a guard who can play center in case we don't want to sign him to a new monster contract next year?

Essentially, is Pouncey worth giving a monster contract to? Would the reward outweigh the risk of making him one of the highest paid centers in the NFL? Or could we have more luck signing him to a transition tag and looking to other players from this or the next draft?

Worry about fixing the worst line in the nfl right now and worry about pouncey in 2 seasons when he will be a free agent

And yes when the time comes I would be willing to give pouncey the big deal he has already earned

If the best C in the draft is available, take him and move Pouncey to guard. Pouncey was tipping off the snap and outside of blocking, was not that great at the other aspects of being a C.

it's very rare that centers can't play guard. So if you want somebody that can cover for Pouncey, just draft a C that can potentially play guard as well rather than trying to teach somebody how to be a Center. It's a deep center class.

Brenner can play C, as can Garner. I would not do anything this year until we see how Brenner develops.

Center that can play guard it's probably Weston richburg...but at 298 lbs he doesn't look like he can carry much more weight and not lose his movement skills somewhat...so if I was drafting him while I think he can play some guard it would likely be with an eye on the pivot at that weight...some late 2nd round buzz with this guy which is too rich for me...I could get down with 3rd round probably but not any top 50 stuff

Larsens movement skills aren't very good he's pretty stout though...can anchor and he's got some strength to him

In the write up, it says he has quick feet and he compares to the 49'ers center. His brother plays for the Ravens. If I had a concern it would be his arm length, but at center it isn't that great a liability.
He would be contingency get. I would not waste out top picks on a center. Round 5-6, OK.
I like him better than Stock or Okard

With us exercising our option, Pouncey has none until after 2015. No need to do anything in this draft.

The good point about Larsen is that he can play guard. That versatility is something that Philbin loves. He could play back up guard and give an option of trading Pouncey if he pans out.
Right now our best back up center is Garner, who has never been a guy that could play 16 games and he is getting long in the tooth. I think the need is there right now.
I would hate to wait until 2016 and plug in a rookie center...right when the team should be jelling. I would put the building block together now.

Interesting point about Richburg. Though, its my understanding that lighter more fluid OL are preferred in the ZBS.

I like Marcus Martin from So Cal, but, prefer Ikard from OU. He can learn the nuances of Guard. So, if (when) things go south w/ Pouncey a solution is already waiting in the wings. Crisis averted. You're welcome.

Izard and stork probably stork the most project as possible down the road centers in the current eagles center mode...that's the kind of center I would be looking to develop...a slightly undersized guy with movement skills and feet where I could develop his strength technique etc...but only late day 3 values

rwally like Marcus Martin but I really doubt that gets out of day 2...good feet good move athlete...guard center capabilities there as well

The guy that may have the highest upside of all of em down the road on the pivot may be Wesley Johnson of Vanderbilt...maxed out body pretty much lacks strength to play tackle or guard I'd grab that very late and develop it for a few years and I may have a long term center option...his 10 yard split number was outstanding...would not draft to play tackle though...

I go back to Brenner, not Garner, as a better option than a late round pick IF he develops as I think he will this year. I don't see a late rounder being kept on the roster but, maybe on the practice squad. Hard to say at this point but, I do not see us getting rid of Dallas, Brenner, Garner, and maybe Fox in place of a rookie.

I'm not waiting until 2016 but, I am until 2015. JMO
