Should we start Poole as soon as the season starts?

considering his injury and seeing what we might do with madison do you think we should start him right when the season starts?i think we should start him at nickel and challenge him and make him earn his starting position because i think his injury could hold him back a little bit.but i think as the season progresses we should start him.

Your thoughts?

To me thats like asking if the Bengals should draft a QB. Too early to figure out if he is gonna make back, or where he will be when he does....

Way too early to tell. I think this is one reason why Madison and maybe Howard (with a restructured contract) will be with us next year. If Poole shows his knee is solid then he starts in 2007 and then Howard and Madison are gone.

He will have a chance to earn a starting job in camp and the preseason. It will just depend on how he plays reletive to the other corners that we have.

Madison is a hundred times better than that scrub. He needs to be kept. 2m is not enough to justify cutting him.

If we lose Madison, don't sign Clements and he stays healthy, I imagine he'll start alongside Daniels. Even if we have Sam or Nate, he could challenge for the second spot as the word is Travis may make a better Nickleback or even Safety I hear......

i say that it depends if madison is going to stay or not ,acctualy i think that we are going to try sign a good fa but if madison stays i will say no because daniels has more playing time and he knows better the system, although i think he is going to have a better carrer than daniels

Kind of hard to make that determination until camp. I voted yes based on what we have on the team NOW. With the players that are likely to be brought in, you never know what could happen. He'll have an opportunity to win the starting spot. He will probably be a little rusty at first. But with a full camp and a few preseason games, he should knock off the rust and we'll see what he's got.

It really depends on how fast he can learn the playbook/coverages. He's a hell of an athlete, but even Madison had trouble catching on to all of Saban's coverage schemes. If nothing else, he'll be our nickelback until Saban thinks he's ready.

If anything I think Saban will make him earn a starting spot. If he plays well enough to warrant a start then he will.

I think he'll play as a backup during preseason. Mabye that will get him back on fire. I like Poole and I hope he starts opposite of Travis Daniels since Sam looks like he's gone.

If we lose Madison (which I see as highly likely), then who else will be there to start? I suppose we could bring a FA in. Then, it would be a competition. Other than that, I see him starting on day one because I doubt anyone we draft would be able to compete with him right away.

hes gonna be our #3 maybe 4 corner for a little then he'll earn the #2 after a few weeks

Exactly. About all I can say is I hope he does make it back and start.
