Shula rips Saban on Fox Radio

I would say its a fair assessment by Shula.

I would say its a fair assessment by Shula.

Shula has always been a stand up guy who says what he thinks. He is the exact oppsite of a 2 faced coward like Saban.
Shula faced his critics and the media head on and didn't run from them (or lie to them) to make himself look good. He let his body of work on the field be his defense.

Very nice. Gotta love the honesty, though you have to realize he is slightly bias considering Mike's history at Alabama.

shula is the man, i would like to see him kick nicks butt in a fist fight

Link isn't working for me. Can anyone give a brief overview of his comments?

“I think he’s burned all his bridges. He came in here and said a lot of things and none of them were true. They were just found out to be blatant lies. He goes and does something completely opposite of what he said he was going to do," Shula said in response to a question about Saban making amends with the Dolphins.
"He (Saban) was here for two years. He was 15-17 in those two years so he didn’t fulfill the promises that he made when he left LSU to come here. And then his agent and the people that were talking to Alabama on the sly when my son Mike was up there. I found out a lot about that also, so there aren’t a lot of good thoughts I have about Saban.â€

Thanks Silverphin!

Shula said nothing out of the ordinary. He's made comments like this before, and he has every right to. He is the legend here in Miami, the Don if you may. Saban should've considered it an honour to coach the Fins, and yet he took it for granted. Thats what got Shula the most. Its because of Shula and the coaches of the past that Miami enjoys the tradition and image that is unrivaled even today.

Saban had big shoes to fill, and couldn't handle the pressure, and IS IN FACT a blatant liar.

Shula is the man, simple as that.

I never understood Saban's legacy even before he came here. Outside of that 1 season with LSU his track record hasn't been that impressive. Certainly not impressive enough to give him all the hype.

saben has really went from the top to the bottom fast, he deserves all the bashing, i hope he fails the rest of his sorry _ _ _ time in coaching

I thought one of the things with him when we got him was that he'd never had a loosing record.
