As each day passes, my appreciation for what Don Shula meant to this organization grows more and more.

Not only is he the greates coach of all time, but he was a man of INTEGRITY, something as we see today, the game of football sorely lacks.

When Shula retired, I said his legend would grow larger each day and indeed it has. I hope we all can appreciate just how much he meant to the Dolphins.

I wonder how many old school Baltimore Colt fans would agree with you...just kidding, had to throw that in. I do agree, greatest coach ever!

I don't think Shula would ever have left Baltimore, but the owner (Rosenbloom at the time) never forgave him for losing the Super Bowl to the Jets. It was a mutual parting I believe.

Interesting...never knew the details about his coming to Miami. My first year following football/Miami was his first year coaching Miami. I always enjoyed watching highlights of SB III, but knowing that led to coach Shula coming to Miami it will be even more enjoyable from now on.

A lot of times, you really don't fully appreciate what you have until its gone. Shula was indeed the greatest coach in NFL history. He also was a guy that loved this organization, and gave everything he had to the Miami Dolphins.

I knew when the Robbie family sold the team to Wayne in 1994, that we were going to be in for a lot of changes and some hard times. When you look back at it now, you see what a difference a great coach makes, rather than these last few guys that have come and gone the past 10 years.

Wayne ultimately talked Shula into retirement in 95. Then brought in what everybody thought was going to be the savior in Jimmy, and the rest went down the drain from there on out.

Wayne should consider bringing in Shula for more of a role in the front office, to help evaluate a new coach.
