Shula to Jacksonville

Good... I personally didn't want him here.

And if Cameron doesn't win in two seasons, (i.e. better than 10-6) and at least make the playoffs.... I don't want his as* here either. So it's really good that Miami is paying him less than Capers so that he understands that message from the beginning....

:fire:

Cam has only been here a few days and comments like that are being made :shakeno: . No wonder Dolphin fans are known as being the most fickle in the entire NFL.

I wish the man luck, personally i think he got a raw deal in Bama and is a very talented coach. I would love to see him as our OC next season but that is not to be.

I think people get lost in the name. It's easy to do, Shula means a great deal to the people of Miami. But this isn't Don Shula getting hired by the Jags. We need to get guys in here that Cam can feel confortable with not getting guys that makes Papa Shula happy. Good Luck in Jax!

Sorry but after the incident at Alabama, which by the way I USED to support) and the arrogance of Nick Saban... I just find it arrogant that a position with the Dolphins would not have been offered to Mike Shula, especially since we are losing Garrett to the Cowgirls.

I wish Shula well and hope he has success but then again I'd have to wish him well now at one of our AFC and even worse in state rivals.

So yeah... your right, I guess I am fickeled but more than that I'm sick of arrogance.

A little positive thinking would be nice buddy. Cam is the first offensive minded coach we have had and a guy that likes gadget and trick plays. We have lacked a creative mind on offense for years so lets give him a chance to show us what he can do.

You got that right, never have I seen so many who would throw our new HC under the bus before he even gets a chance to start coaching! And these guys wonder why no-one wants to be our HC! :fire:

Oh and by the way, I have a friend in Buffalo who goes to lots of games up there...

He says sticking with that walking disaster Mularkey will be Cameron's un-doing out of the gate. No matter what capacity we use him in he's got a black cloud of stupidity floating above his head.

And exactly HOW do the PHINS fit into the Shula situation at AL ....

And we 'owe' Shula what ????

Garrett was much more coveted than Shula and we 'let' him go to the 'BOYS' ..

We didn't owe him sh*t. But, he is considered very competent as a Quarterbacks Coach, and had some success as an offensive coordinator even though he worked for a defensive designed Tampa Bay Bucs as OC. He took a program stuggeling at Alabama coming off probation and the firing of a newly hired head coach and took that team to the Cotton bowl and won in only his second year.

More important Alabama has to pay his salary, i.e. up to 65,000 a month
above what any other team hires him for compensation. So we could have had him for basically nothing.

He was a ball boy at one time for the Phins, coached quarterbacks here, so yeah loyallty wise and MONEY wise....we missed out.

According to Mobile television station WALA-TV, Jacksonville has hired Mike Shula as its new quarterbacks coach. Shula was considered a candidate for a Dolphins' staff position after interviewing for the team's head coaching position.

This is ridiculous. I've officially revoked my support of Wayne Huizenga and nothing less than a conference chamipionship appearence will re-insitute it. Even then, it will be Cameron and the players that deserve the credit and not that idiot of an owner. How I wish the rumors of WH selling were true.

How hard could it have been to secure Garret and Shula? Demote Mularkey to TE's coach, promote Garret to OC so Dallas could only interview him as HC, and hire Shula as QB's coach. How difficult is that? Am I missing something? The above would have upgraded the TE's position, retained an upcoming star at the OC position, and satisfied Phin fans and legacy in a very good coach in Shula(Despite what the haters think of Shula he took a University that hasn't been successful in a longtime and had success, a Univ with recruiting penalties to boot).

I'm done with Wayne Huizenga. :french:

Oh, and I thought I heard Cameron say at his press conference this is not about Cam Cameron, this is about building a team..

Well seeing how we could have had Shula a loyal team type guy for basically nothing, I guess the only reason we didn't reach out to him was that Cam Cameron just didn't feel secure having a Shula on staff and waiting in the wings.

So I guess it IS about Cam Cameron, at least in some regards after all.

I'd would have given this guy a lot more time here, if he'd of pulled in Shula somewhere on staff.

Now he's got until after free agency and the draft...and I like a lot of other fans are expecting big things....he'd better deliver.

Money Wise: Miami missed out on nothing because coaching doesn't fall into the salary cap - I'm sure Huizenga thought this out...
Loyalty Wise: Seeing as he is being paid $65,000 a month for nothing, he didn't have to ruch into a job, he could have waited for Miami to set up their staff.

I think loyalty goes both ways...
