Good read with quotes from Capers and Mularkey:

With Mularkey and Capers on board, the Dolphins have one of the most high-profile coaching staffs in the league. Capers said there's an advantage to being a former head coach.
"I just think it gives you a totally different perspective, enables you to kind of see the big picture," said Capers, speaking to South Florida reporters Thursday for the first time since joining Miami in January. "So I think you understand why some decisions are being made. You understand the difficulty of making the decisions, whether it be personnel-wise, scheme-wise or staff-wise. To me, experience is the best teacher for any of us."
"Obviously when you win your last six of the year you've done something right," Mularkey said. "There are a lot of positives about being down here."

We should see these PCs on the official site, if Capers and MM did in fact speak to the media today.

God, knowing what Saban and Capers will be doing with this defense makes me want to get LaVar Arrington that much more.

This definately contrasts to an earlier topic that Sports Illustrated hates the Dolphins.
Taking a second look at the article, technically it isn't an SI article. It was written by the AP.

Bingo, they picked it up from the AP, and, I don't think it's necessarily CNNSI that most feel have a grudge against the Dolphins so much as the Journalist Jeffri Chadiha, who wrote two pretty negative based articles in consecutive weeks about Ricky and Daunte.

I think this Defense, with or without Arrington is going to look much different next season with both Saban and Capers minds at work. I feel really excited to see what we're going to put together.

good read thanks

i know this is off topic but..... damn barry looked so little as a pirate. i knew there was definite muscle gain, but muscle gain that quick almost makes me want to try it out. almost.

I love reading things like this. Capers and Mularky both saw what was happening in Miami and they wanted to be a part of it.

Maybe we could trade one of our coaches. Get a couple of players or draft picks. Maybe Minnesota is interested..............Wait they dont have any good players LOL . I think we signed there star Qb. Well we could at least move up in the draft:lol:

Read this earlier in the day. It's a good read. It will be interesting to see how Capers and Mularkey adjust from being head coaches to assistants.

Hopefully they will still have that ingenuity that the best assistants have.

One of the problems in the NFL is that coordinators become a bit stale or staid in their philosophy. Norv Turner is a prime example. He never really seemed to advance much in the past few years. This is why I was disappointed to see Linehan leave - he was in the prime of his years in terms of offensive coordination - really developing a very good system, the nuances of which teams would not be able to uncover very easily.

Hopefully, Mularkey will be able to use that system and give it some twists.

I'm confident that we'll do well with Saban/Capers 3-4, 4-3 system. It's just tough to play against a defense that is always changing (ala the Pats).

I'm glad to have Mularky and Capers but I'm betting one or both are gone after one season.

Two former head coaches and if Miami has success like I think they will and head coaching spots open up, like we all know they will, their names will be put in the ring.

I also heard another rumor recently that University of Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino had actually accepted the head coaching job with the Raiders but because his QB son is in his last year of H.S. at Trinity in Louisville he wanted to wait............so Art Shell was actually hired as a one year interm coach and Petrino will take over in 2007.
