Miami -- The Dolphins' search for another starting quarterback option could include talks with Atlanta about the availability of Michael Vick's backup, Matt Schaub. The Falcons might be willing to part with Schaub for a second-round pick -- the same price the Dolphins paid for A.J. Feeley two years ago.

I hope not. Matt is better suited to the West Coast Offense that Atlanta runs.

I don't like the idea of Schaub in our offense.

I dunno. I went to UVA and saw him pretty regularly (he and Brooks) and I'd take him. He might not be a starter right away, but I think with the right coaching, he could have a Hasselbeck-like career. And we all know how important coaching can be...

Id rather draft a young QB and groom him, FA for QBs isn't that great looking this year. Unless we could get Rivers from SD, I say wait til the draft to fill that hole

>> look how "great" AJ was for us.... just the way this sounds makes me hate Schaub

I don't understand why y'all think that Schuab is garbage. Did you see him play against New England? Also, is every person in this message board an offensive coordinator? How do you know that he would not succeed in our offense?
I am not trying to be rude. I am just curious why almost all of you say," I don't like him in our system". Or "he's a WC QB". There is no way of knowing that. I mean the guy made it to NFL, I am pretty sure that he can adjust if need be.
Also, we all know in our hearts that Gus will start next season, why not groom Schuab? Now I know that some of you are saying look at his numbers, and I did they are pretty ugly but we all know that he has alot of potential.
For those of you saying,"let's draft a QB". I am all for that, I think that is a great idea. But we know that Gus will be gone after next season and I don't believe that our rookie qb drafted in 06' will be ready. Schuab will be the next stepping stone into to the bright Dolphins future.

Schaub is a young QB...and might have as much going for him as Rivers. Rivers does have questionable arm strength and delivery but his intangibles make him an interesting option if available. Schaub is bigger and a little more mobile than Rivers. There were also questions about his arm strength, but he seemed to be able to make all the throws this past season filling in for Vick...

Yeah he threw for over 300 yards.....so did Gus Frerotte against a banged up new england secondary

His career completion percentage is 47% and it didnt improve at all his second year, it has been 47% both seasons. He has played one good game in his career, and lacks arm strength

Another thing, its not like his numbers arent great and he is a proven winner HE LOST THE GAME vs NE

Sorry but you're mistaken. His 1st year's comp % was in fact 47.1%; QB rating: 42.0; 0 TDs and 4 INTs. However last year his comp % was 51.6%; QB rating: 98.1; 4 TDs and 0 INTs. So, in fact he improved. Source was nfl.com

Matt Schuab? Not because of one game. There is this guy in San Diego, a few years ago when he was backing up McNabb in Philly, he won THREE out of four games; lets trade a second for him! If only I could remember his name...
