Sick of all the Negativity

suck for luck is stupid and an embarrassment to the fans. watch the kid is gonna be a bum and your wasting all your energy worrying about it.

No it is not, the product they have put on the field is an EMBARRASSMENT to the fans.

What you have here is finally a mutiny of sorts, people are fed up and willing to sacrifice a season for a hopefull change.

So count me the f\/ck in...

Suck for Luck is just our equivalent of going to the game with paper bags over our heads and FIRE MILLEN signs. It's too hot to wear a paper bag over your head for four quarters in Miami, so better to just put up a SFL billboard. Ross is getting the message.

Good try with the reverse psychology... but it doesn't work.

You are assuming we get Luck. You are assuming, he'll want to even come here. You are assuming he'll even work out.

I am not one who hedges my bets on uncertainties.

I didn't think this team was any good coming into the season and it has now been proven that they are not. If this team had any shot at the playoffs I would want them to win every game. When I watch the games I cheer for them to win just like I would any other season. The only difference is I don't get that upset about losses anymore because I know the more we get the better chance we will have at somebody who may change our fortunes. Before the season started I thought this was a 6-10 team. After the Cleveland loss they showed me they aren't even that good. So yes I would rather win 0 games and have the best possible chance at Luck than win 3 or 4 games and have to take a consolation QB. To me there is nothing to salvage by going 4-12. This team going 4-12 doesn't make anything any better. I would rather have a chance than to not have one.

Also who gives a rat's *** what other team's fans think of us? The only thing that matters is how good the team is. Anything the fans do does not really matter. I would love to be ridiculed as a bad fan for a year and then watch a contender for the next ten years.

People who want Miami to win a few more games just don't want to get ridiculed in the office by Jets fans on Monday mornings. They'd rather the team pull out 7 wins, save Tony Sparano's job, and continue to stink on ice for three more years than have to deal with the humiliation of someone saying "ahah your football team lost a game" in front of some other coworkers. I guess I can respect that. If my professional and personal lives were so unfulfilling that I had to live vicariously through my favorite sports team, I'd probably root for them to save me about an hour's worth of embarrassment over the course of seventeen weeks, too.

well I can't speak for anyone else, nor will I presume why people want this or that, I just hate losing. I want wins. each week every week. I don't care about next April when there is 12 weeks left in the season and no guarantee we get Luck or that he pans out. There is no humiliation is losing at all. I'm really not sure where you're coming from with this, or the insult you're trying to hurl, but it makes no sense. Most of my fave teams aren't winning. But i root for them anyway. I want to win all the time. At the end of the season I can accept anything that comes. I want the professional athletes on my favorite teams to try and win, each and every game.

The flawed logic about suck for luck is that every single person clamoring for it, are the ones who have absolutely zero impact on whether it happens or not. The Players don't play and get paid to lose. Coaches don't scheme and get paid to lose. You don't become a professional athlete if you accept losing. So everyone sitting here talking about it, have nothing to do with it.

On the contrary, we have a lot to do with it. We buy game tickets and merchandise. We position the buzz surrounding the team, which is something that an entire staff of marketing guys spend 8 hours a day trying to influence. The things you say on the airwaves (and on the internet) and the amount of money you spend on your team has far more influence on the team over your lifetime than the 3 year career of a guy like Reshad Jones or Nolan Carroll.

Im tired of all the "real fans" as they call themselves telling me that I'm not a real fan if i want the fins to suck for luck...so what if i want to suck for luck, wouldn't it make our team better to have a franchise QB??? and to tell me I'm not a real fan is bogus...how am i not a real fan if I've done nothing but spend thousands of dollars on miami dolphins stuff from tickets to the games, to jerseys, to t-shirts, posters, flags, you name it I've bought it....so don't go telling me I'm a fake fan cuz i want andrew luck....i want him cuz I'm tired of losing, I'm tired of being the laughing stock when i talk to my friends about football...

thanks, and phinsup

I'm 100% behind you on this. I have no problem with it. Suck for Luck, if we can do it, go for it !

You're missing my main point. There can be an empty stadium.. the only true people with a hand in the outcome.. the players will never play to lose. Just sayin.

Better than hoping for 4 or 5 wins and then missing on Luck & Barkley. That is unfortunately what I think will happen, we will win just enough, to keep us from getting either one of them, and then we have Ireland stick around and take yet another OLineman.

I know exactly where he is coming from. In 2007 (1-15 year) I was ridiculed every single Monday for the phins losing. I don't care though because hey what can I have done to stop it? I said the yeah yeah and laughed cause this was coming from people who also liked junk teams but mine happened to be slightly worse. It didn't bother me then and certainly doesn't now with the idiots definitely getting fired when it's all over. So really now, you are seriously going to claim no one ever said anything to make fun of the Dolphins to you? If you say no and it's the truth it has to HAS to be because of the region you live in. Now come on and fess up, you want wins for self esteem nothing more or less. I want Luck for future esteem knowing the labor of my enduring crap football seasons for 12 years+ has paid off.

I get people making fun of me all the time for being a Dolphins fan. It doesn't bother me one way or another. Why would it? I dont get mad anymore when we lose (like I used to pre 2007)

It is what it is. We're a proud franchise with one of the best overall winning percentages over the history of the NFL... even with the last 10 years of futility. The way I see it, it's just our turn at sucking. I fully realize some of the younger fans may never have known the Dolphins as a NFL powerhouse. I do. I remember watching Dan in the Superbowl on TV.

It is what it is. Everyone has an opinion. I'm simply debating mine. I respect everyone is entitled to theirs. That's what message boards are all about. I think we're all "fans". If we didn't give a ****, we certainly wouldn't join FH.

The short termers like continued 7-9 seasons.

These are the same people that rather win now (meaningless games) AND also complain that the local fans don't spend money on the team.

True fans...........
Side with their team win or lose!
Look for a win week in week out rather it happens or not!
Support the players we have at the time, bcs he's a fin!
Play madden with ur team even as the underdog!
Wear fin gear even when the team is losing!
Just the start of being a true fin fan!

Man its not fun losing but if ur having 2nd thought move on as us true fins continue!

If you were a player on this team, and saw SUCK FOR LUCK billboards around town, would you ever want to play for this fanbase again?

I sure wouldn't. Its pathetic.

Not to mention any big name free agents looking for a new team to play for...
