Sick of all the Negativity

I will never root for the Fins to lose but I have come to realize that every loss is a step in the right direction!

Don't listed to them, like others have staited by us being here on the forums of an 0-4 team we are fans like it or not. We are just tired of the same 6 or 7 win seasons and never drafting a qb in the first. It has to happen and our chances are getting better and better each week.

SFL

I'm more scared of sucking for nothing if we don't land Luck.

Barkley or Jones would be great consolation prizes. Luck is obviously the ultimate prize and I pray we get him but I'm just psyched that it looks like we'll finally invest a 1st rounder in the most important position since 1983. I'm still not sure who would be best for us between those 2, but it's just so refreshing to finally see light at the end of the tunnel. This nightmare of having bargain-bin bums (minus the 1 year with Pennington) year after year is finally coming to an end. The disaster scenario IMO is if we finish 4-12 or somewhere around there, don't get either of the top 3 QBs, bring back Ireland and hire some unknown assistant coach as the HC. That would pretty much kill all of next year and the near future too, since the 2013 QB class looks very mediocre, especially when compared to this coming one.

Sick of all the Negativity Im tired of all the "real fans" as they call themselves telling me that I'm not a real fan if i want the fins to suck for luck...so what if i want to suck for luck, wouldn't it make our team better to have a franchise QB??? and to tell me I'm not a real fan is bogus...how am i not a real fan if I've done nothing but spend thousands of dollars on miami dolphins stuff from tickets to the games, to jerseys, to t-shirts, posters, flags, you name it I've bought it....so don't go telling me I'm a fake fan cuz i want andrew luck....i want him cuz I'm tired of losing, I'm tired of being the laughing stock when i talk to my friends about football...

thanks, and phinsup

Hate to break it to you, but the "suck for luck" thinking is about as negative as you can get.

Pot, meet kettle.

its really not negative! I've seen the losses before, I'm immune to them now, too many to count....so whats a few more to me, if it means we get Luck? people keep bringing up "what if he's a bust?" well What If He's NOT a BUST!!! and turns out to be what we all thought he was? what if he turns out to be another great QB in this league wouldn't that just lead us to the same old "shoulda, woulda coulda?" we will be saying then that we should have just loss more games and got him, and saying the mediocrity killed us with no playoffs or no top QB....just how i think, i being a very frustrated fan, a fan that has spent not only money but my heart on this team year in and year out...and all i want is for us to win, and win big!

Which is what Miami has been doing for the last 10 years. People are ready for a change.

They're ready to go a different route in an attempt to achieve a different result. Rather than continuing the same run of borderline mediocrity for a season or two before the bottom falls out again because they keep repeating the exact same flaw over and over again...

...neglecting the quarterback position.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you want to spout your "Suck for Luck", people are entitled to reply disagree or whatever. You're basically ****ting on the very freedom you are demanding from everyone else.

Some people adopt a loser mentality and accept losing. Others don't. So if you want to be a loser go ahead. But don't ask others to as well,.

It's not a loser mentality. It's realizing that Miami is a bad football team, and an organization being run by a group of imbeciles. This was apparent before this season got off to an 0-4 start.

Not a damn soul here is going to 'fanboy' and 'hope' Miami into being a contender again. It's going to require a lot of different things. A franchise quarterback being the most critical.

A shot at Andrew Luck without blowing it is Miami's Ace-in-the-hole right now... not fanboyism.

Te whole "Suck for Luck" campaign is embarrassing. Perhaps you're trying to salvage some happiness out of this conundrum. But it doesn't make the fan base look any better. Certainly doesn't give us any credibility when fans from other terms come to our board and comment about our lack of heart and loyalty.

So you want to Suck.. then don't get mad next Monday when a players whiffs on tackles. Come here and say how great they played,. and how happy you are that Marshall dropped another TD, and how he'll miraculously turn into a go to guy once we get "Luck".

It's a mindset. A mentality. Every opposing AFC team fan that comes here mentions it. And we prove it. On the field and off it.

"Great fans", or "Real fans" can be realistic, and pessimistic, and critical. But wanting to lose, and adopting a loser mentality has nothing to do with fandom. That is entirely the make up of the human being.

Yes the team is embarrassing. The fans wanting to tank a season for a player who hasn't proven anything is embarrassing. All we can control is now. Today. With 12 games left there is no guarantee we'll even have the pick to acquire him.

This football team, it's head coach, it's General Manager, and it's owner is what's embarassing. The fact that this team continues to repeat the same mistake over and over again, even when they are in position to have a shot at getting it turned around is what's embarassing.

If you're more worried about what some fan of another team has to say more than you are about what Miami needs to do in order to compete with the rest of the league that actually "gets it".... that alone is astonishingly embarassing.

Whether the fans want to tank the season or not is irrelevant. It's the players and coaches that will determine Miami's fate over these last 12 games.... and I'm here to tell you, you're in for several more doses of exactly what you've been getting.

I wouldn't let Brandon Marshall within 100 yards of Andrew Luck.

Good try with the reverse psychology... but it doesn't work.

You are assuming we get Luck. You are assuming, he'll want to even come here. You are assuming he'll even work out.

I am not one who hedges my bets on uncertainties.

His approach to your psychological evaluation was no more in reverse than yours is.

In the NFL, you're either:

1. Competing

2. Rebuilding

3. Falling Apart

Take a guess which one the Dolphins are doing.....

Miami has tried to rebuild the wrong way since Marino was on his last legs. Now, they're falling apart once again.

He's interested in Miami having a legitimate future through a legitimate rebuilding process that is centered around a legitimate franchise quarterback. Not what some jersey wearing jock-sniffer of a rival fan has to say on a message board.

What is Falling apart Ted.

I'll take who is going to be our next head coach for eight hindered please.

What's more embarrassing is that there are socalled fans who are more interested in their own satisfaction than what's best for the team. What's more embarrassing is that there are socalled fans who would rather win a couple of extra games so it makes themselves feel better than what could be a franchise changer for this team.

What's most embarrassing is that if the last game of the season determined if we had the number one pick, we lose we get it we win we don't, that there are socalled fans who would rather us win that meaningless last game.

Rolling over and playing dead is not an option for the players. It would be a one way ticket to the unemployment line. They don't sacrifice injury and years of pain and rehabilitation to tank for the fans glee. Sorry.
Yes, Developing new players is a good option. Sage Rosenfels isn't I'd rather Devlin.
I agree, I think we'll be picking in the top 5. Luck is the media darling. But there are other very good QBs still in this draft. (I try and not drink media kool aid about the draft and players, or anything for that matter.)

There's already several players headed to the unemployment line. Coaches also.

Given the fact that they are actually trying lends a little insight to exactly how dire the situation at hand really is.

Apparently, you drank the media kool-aid about Ryan Leaf being a "can't miss" prospect, did you not? You made sure you pointed that out in other threads. I know damn well you never saw him play a snap at Washington State.

Luck isn't the media's darling. Scouts have known this kid was a lock pro prospect since he was a freshman. He's the best FOOTBALL PLAYER in the country... not a hype machine driven by stat padding in a gimmick offense.

well I can't speak for anyone else, nor will I presume why people want this or that, I just hate losing. I want wins. each week every week. I don't care about next April when there is 12 weeks left in the season and no guarantee we get Luck or that he pans out. There is no humiliation is losing at all. I'm really not sure where you're coming from with this, or the insult you're trying to hurl, but it makes no sense. Most of my fave teams aren't winning. But i root for them anyway. I want to win all the time. At the end of the season I can accept anything that comes. I want the professional athletes on my favorite teams to try and win, each and every game.

The flawed logic about suck for luck is that every single person clamoring for it, are the ones who have absolutely zero impact on whether it happens or not. The Players don't play and get paid to lose. Coaches don't scheme and get paid to lose. You don't become a professional athlete if you accept losing. So everyone sitting here talking about it, have nothing to do with it.

The professional athletes on your team are trying to win... they just can't.

His 'insult' wasn't an insult at all, he's telling it like it is. It doesn't matter whether you hate losing or not. You're losing.

..and it has nothing more to do with the outcome than the people who have "tanked it in" already, and are able to find more hope through an unproven college quarterback, than they can through this dumpster fire collection of coaches and players who aren't getting paid to lose, but do a mighty fine job of it.
