I'm not going to quote all the lame comments posted by the so called "fans" as I will direct this towards all of you.
If you don't like the players on the team, get a new team to cheer for. I can't believe I have to defend our team to other fin fans. Most of the people here in this thread that have made more negative comments about our team, why are you still a fan of our team? Go be a fan of another team, it's your choice...no one is forcing you to be a Dolphins fan.
I don't come here thinking I'm a tough guy, I come here to knock some sense into people who do the stupid acts at team practices. I am a die hard fan and consider myself part of the team at home games. We become a 12th man on the field and the players thrive on our enthusiasm. I grew up playing many team sports and the one thing I have NEVER done is tell another teammate that they sucked, nor did I yell it at them so everyone else can hear.
People who yell those kind of things to get attention need to get a clue about what being a fan is about.
These players obviously thrive on your enthusiasm... to the tune of a 1-7 record at home last year. Perhaps what you need is a reality check, instead of running around trying to play fan police.
These players don't even know who you are, and couldn't give two ****'s about you or who you are... what they thrive on is that 5 and 6 digit paycheck every week... not your lame a$$.
When you start scoring points, throwing blocks and making tackles... that's when you'll have anything to do with W's and L's...
You've taken this "fandom" thing and turned it into something that isn't reality in order to make yourself feel more important than you really are. You take being a fan way too seriously. You're not a better fan than those jerks running their mouth at practice... you're just more confused about the significance being a fan has on the impact of the football team.
You don't HAVE to defend anything... like I said, why you choose to defend a bunch of millionaires who don't even know who you are as if they're a family member is the basis of your confusion. It's not your place to tell people what they can and cannot say... what they can and cannot be a fan of... or what they feel.
Personally, I like more players off the Falcons roster than I do Miami's. Guys like Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez, Michael Turner, Julio Jones, etc... are just easy to root for... no matter what uniform they wear.
Scum like Brandon Marshall, Phillip Merling, etc... are just hard to root for no matter what... They could put on Dolphin jerseys until they suffocate, and I still wouldn't piss on either one of 'em if they were on fire. Even Chad Henne is hard to root for because of his misplaced sense of entitlement... calling out college kids, when he's supposed to be a professional. Morons like Channing Crowder were always hard to root for... Ginnger was impossible to root for because of flat a$$ lack of EFFORT...
I like more players on the Saints roster than I do Miami's... Guys like Drew Brees, Mark Ingram, Roman Harper, etc.. are easy to root for, no matter what NFL team's jersey they're wearing.
There's a lot more to being a fan than being obsessed with a logo or colors. I'm a FOOTBALL fan first and foremost.
This almost sounds like a nice topic for a WV "Get Real" thread...
