If he's healthy and he's available we'll sign Drew Brees if wer'e smart. The man is an absolute sniper, he's smart, and he knows how to win football games. (Nate Kaeding screwed them over against the jets in the playoffs if u remember) His critics say that he can't throw the deep ball, well I watched plenty of Charger games the last couple years since I have the football package and trust me the man can throw a deep ball. The trouble is he's had some pretty bad recievers and he had a very slow start to his career, but he was on some very bad bad offenses. I really feel like we have the same amount of talent, if not more talent than the Chargers do on offense so Brees has nowhere to go but up in Miami. Damn I really think getting Brees along with having a good off season would make us a super bowl contender right away, go get him guys.

Amen, i would be shocked if Marty let Brees go. That would be a great pickup for us.

This will be the start of many similiar threads should he become available. I could see him coming here being a good thing though...

It's a no-brainer. But we won't be the only team going after his services. I would think we'd have the upper hand because of the direction of the organization, the warm weather, no taxes, Nick Saban and how close we are to being a true SB contender.

If he did become available and we got him it would be an excellent move. He would be the best QB available at the time through the draft or FA and is a big thing to pass up.

Who needs to throw the ball deep if he can throw 15 yders on the money every time?

I would be worried about the shoulder, this type of injury does re-occur in about 90 percent of the population in a non traumatic setting say bumping into a wall or throwing a ball out back, with a QB in a contact sport, Brees is going to be alot like pennington unfortunately, it not in a year within three his career is over

this is a significant injury for a QB, if he played any other position it is totally different, this is his throwing side guys, i believe he had a labral tear and got two ligaments, he can strengthen up the cuff, but his motion is going to be off even a little bit will add up over time a year or two of throwing in camp during the year, how many throws does he have in him?, they should not sign this guy, that is the reason the chargers a letting him test the market their doctors are telling them he is not going to be around long

i gurantee if drew brees becomes a free agent, we will definatly sign him

We have the perfect situation to get Brees. Let Gus take the offense until he is totally healthy and is 100 percent ready to play. The Jets are going to try to sign him(I believe that San Diego's ex QB coach is the OC) I would hate to lose him to them. Then we could use our # 1 on a corner.

They have a coach that could not hold Belly's cup last year. Why would anyone want to sign with the Jets, even if they could
