Sign Of A Good Hire: Packers Fans on Philbin and Broncos Fans Reactions on McCoy

I personally am elated with the hire of Joe Philbin. Still, no better way to get a pulse on coaching talent than by consulting the fans of the coaching prospects:

On Philbin being considered and eventually hired, from Packers forum Packer Chatter:

Not trying to be smart at all, but I can totally see the Philbin family wanting a fresh start elsewhere after what just happened.
Joe's a very good coach, and I hope he gets the job and has much success.

I think that Philbin will be the Dolphins new HC and I hope he is successful. He is a good guy and well respected by all who have met and know him. You couldn't ask for a better man.

I really dont care to see Philbin go but totally understand both from a professional and personal standpont amd wish him the best. Also the Dolphins will be a player for Flynn.

Another year or 31st in passing and little to no help via play calling for Tebow? Great!

Though I was hoping for a new OC and offensive scheme, sometimes continuity can be best.

I am sure that McCoy was instructed by Fox to keep it simple, Fox is very conservative and does not like to push the envelope. I hope Elway steps in and pushes the schemes and play calling to better suit his hopes of where this team goes. This will be good for Tim and the offense to keep McCoy only if Tim developes and the play calling gets opened up.

Hard to complete above 50% passing when the only time you pass is on 3rd and long in obvious passing downs where the defense knows whats coming and has 8 guys back

but McCoy is great ! he did wonders with Tebow... People don't' look at the whole picture, if they were soo good they wouldn't need Tebow to bail them out the last play of the game 4x. you take those 4 loses and McCoy doesn't look so great does he?

I'd rather have Cam Camerson 2.0 than Henning 2.0 because I know he will get fired where as McCoy will get you to stay at about 5 wins-11 losses and be retained for another year or two.

Living in Denver, I can honestly say I haven't found a single Broncos fan who would have been sad to see McCoy go. They were almost giddy at the prospect of McCoy going to Miami! The Dolphins made the right choice, so props to the front office for FINALLY making a decision I can get behind.

I'm happy with the Philbin hire but I still don't think that Broncos fans are entirely rational on that front. McCoy isn't the problem with the offense there, it's Tebow and Foxball.

But hey, not our problem, right? :)

yeah, same here. I can't believe were getting the coach I actually wanted. I think we will do way better with Philbin than we would have with Fisher. Its funny the coaching names associated around the Dolphins this year (Fisher/Philbin).

I think you nailed it. The enthusiasm is partly coupled with the possibility of a QB coming in that is BETTER than a pile of manure! Imagine!
