Some seem to think that taking the money and running, or running for some ambiguous family reasons, is a valid reason for breaking a coaching contract after just two years. I disagree.

I think a coach should be able to make a commitment for at least three, and hopefully five, years before bailing.

The way Saban left was disgraceful. It was unbelievable.

No. All coaches don't lie. Saban did. No wonder we only had 6 wins this year. The players obviously knew he was a lying "motivator". They probably laughed at him every time he turned his back. Alabama is crazy for hiring him.

I'm still pissed, and have been all day. This was the worst way imaginable. for a coach to leave a professional football team. I know everyone here is tired of reading and thinking about this, and want to look forward, but I still can't believe the way that ******* left. A "discipline" coach leaving like he was running from the law. What a ****head.

I cant fault him for leaving even if it was a family issue or not. I mean I dont want a man building my house if he wants to paint. Saban heart wasnt in the NFL he probably realize that end of last year, but didnt want to quit. Truth is the man change his mind you can't blame a man for that......BUT the way he left without talking to the players or media wasnt a man move in my mind although if I wasnt planning on coming back to the NFL or back to Miami at all then I would have avoided the media also they would have a ball with bashing him and the way he acted towards the media while here. When a NFL coach leaves probably the best NFL job for college, that man should have stayed where he was at.

I don't know guys. When we hired him I really thought he was a man of character. I don't know about anyone else, but when I make a commitment I give it my honest, best shot, regardless of whether the circumstances are in my favor or not, regardless of whether it takes me outside my comfort zone. I want to be able to get up every morning, look in the mirror and say I'm doing the right thing, and trying my hardest regardless of what else is happening. It makes me feel like I'm earning my paycheck and that I can walk with my chin up. I just don't feel Saban did that, this two-and-out BS. I have lost all respect for him. A man of his word would have given it an honest try, which he didn't. If after four years or the five his contract was good for he didn't feel like he wanted to continue I can tell you there would have been a top-shelf college job available. In the end he half-assed it, after writing all that BS in his book and after all the BS he told his players/the press/the fans

I look at Saban as a family dog that ran away, you gave us joy for a little, you pissed on the floor we cleaned it up, you decided to run away and yes the carpet still stinks but we have a new pet and we love him and we have trained him to piss outside

god i really need to stop drinking and posting

Touchdown !!

Awesome Post !!!!

You hit the nail on the head...a man's word is his bond AND this loser has no credibility with ANYONE!!!!

You know Saban could have stated that he was "considering" the move or maybe he could have shut his big mouth with a "no comment" but NO he said that he is going to stay in Miami!!!

I hope but nothing but total failure and losing for this biggest of LOSERS !!!!
