Sorry if this has been posted already but I think he makes a valid point.

"
If your looking for a down-the-field thrower, he is not the guy," former NFL quarterback Phil Simms said. "There are plenty of offenses that he could fit into, but it depends on what you're going to do."

And since Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan has an affinity for deep passes, Simms doesn't see a proper fit.

It depends on what Rivers could be had for and who's available in the draft. I wouldn't make a trade with the Chargers until our selection.

Yea, we're just not going to want a guy who can't throw deep.

i bet he would go on to say his son would be a perfect fit....

:couch:

Rivers will be a good QB for whoever he ends up playing for.

So they do believe that Quinn is our answer. I do also share that same sentiment. Brady Quinn in a dolphin uniform just gives me some confidence in the teams future.

Give me a QB that's smart up top, can read defenses, and can throw underneath routes vs. a gun slinger who can throw 70 yards downthe field.

If you dont mind me askin........but why?

What about Quinn makes you think he is the answer? Myself...I think he could be very good.....but I know nothing about his arm strength....is it really better than Rivers? And if its not.....then he doesnt have the release that Rivers does.....whos is arguably the quickest since Dan Marino. So...just because I dont know a whole lot of Quinn other than the hype....why do you think he is the answer?

it would be nice if rivers goes to the jets as the jest have been reportedly following him/brees often this year and that woudl help us out with having a few qb's to drop down some slots.

u seem to be a quinner. can u give us some info on his arm strenght? release? accuracy down the field? consistency with passes? hits em in stride? etc etc.

I have a feeling Phiilip or Young will be our qb. Anyway, the real question is will Linehan be the OC next year?? Also, I have to say that Saban has been known to have mobile strong armed qb's, not rivers...young would be ideal in this offense.

Good news considering Simms is wrong on practically everything. Why is Rivers' arm strength a prob now?? It never was before. His long balls are fine. Quinn would be great, but he wont enter unless hes pretty sure that hell be a top 5 or 6 guy. Out of our reach. Keep talkin Phil! Talk Mr Rivers into aqua n orange!

Thanks for that. The more and more I think about it, I dont want Rivers to be a Phin. I really wanted him before though.

Actually his arm strength has always been the question mark for him.

Rivers doesn’t have the great deep arm – a number of scouts who evaluated him in Mobile for the Senior Bowl described his downfield accuracy as ‘somewhat of an adventure’.

Deep ball accuracy is very different from arm strength.
