Simple reasons why Ireland needs to be fired.

Here is the thing for me, I think Ireland should be fired. But not for his drafts, his drafts are not awful. They are not spectacular, but they aren't bad. They are middle of the road. I think he should be fired because almost no one likes him, his people skills blow and he's a general manager. As for the product on the field, my biggest issue with him has been overpaying for non-elite healthy talent. I love Wallace being on the team and taking the top off defenses. But for the amount of money the next two seasons.....I'd have rather upped the offer to Jake Long, or signed Jermon Bushrod and also brought in Greg Jennings, who I think would have better repoire with Tannehill because Tanny loves to throw over the middle, and Jennings is pretty good on crossing routes and doesn't drop many. And I don't think Dansby's play had dropped off to the point that we should be carrying dead money on the cap. Shoulda kept him til his contract was up and then used all that money to go get another superstar, regardless of position.

Disclaimer: I hate Ireland
12- possible franchise qb, Vernon (solid starter), Miller(Good player if they give him the ball), Matthews (good value in 7th rd #4 wr w potential) Egnew( jury still out)
11-Pouncey(pro bowler) Clay (our best most versatile weapon) Wilson (contributor in rd 7)
10- Odrick (stud potential pro bowl player), Misi (Solid Starter), Carrol (plays a lot, but not very good) Jones (great value in 5th round)
9- Basically a disaster but Hartline very good player for 4th rd, and Clemons is turning into a very good player

Actually not so bad. problem is so many very bad picks

How many losing seasons in a row will it take before he gets fired? 7, 8, 9?

The guy can't even put together a roster that is mediocre, where mediocre is 8-8!

This is the guy that cheered in the draft room when Chad Henne fell to him in the second round. This is the guy that tough Henne was just as good as Ryan or Flacco.

He hasn't drafted one difference maker, one All-Pro! How can anyone keep defending this guy?

Im with you drafts have been average, not bad.
But whre your evaluation system loses weight is pretty obvious: More lesser players will start on a bad team! Also doesn't take into account game changers: Ie Aaron Rogers, Clay Matthews and Randall Cobb...

It's definitely not an exact science by any stretch (threw it together in an hour). But since it's so arbitrary the grades I'm giving them are more based on how they play when they're on the field. I mean a guy like Cobb is getting 19/20, that's a big chunk but you can't just sleep on the rest of your draft. I think a grade like that qualifies as a game changer. I think a draft is judged on the value you get at each pick. If you're drafting in the late rounds and you hit with a pro bowler that's great, and you get exceptional value. But if you rely on that you're going to fail, which is why hitting on the first few rounds is so important, and to a degree I think I represent that a bit. But would love input on it, because I think it could be a good measuring stick.

To be honest I don't really see how it doesn't take into account game changers, if a guy's a game changer he's gonna grade very highly, if you get 3 high impact guys throughout the draft chances are it is going to be represented. Also with what I'm doing there is some overlap with the grading. So a weak starter can grade out the same as a very solid back up.
