Life is what we make it.
We do have an identity. Boring football. Slow paced offense that struggles to run and throws the ball horizontally to guys who rarely break open plays. Defense that slowly gets eaten up before finally coming up with a stop on our side of the 50. One deep shot a game that our QB and WR can't hook up on because the Offensive Coordinator decides to add a play fake to a go route being run by the fastest player in the NFL.
The good news is that realistically, the coaching staff has an opportunity to try to mix things up here down the stretch. No huddle, up-tempo offense? We are good in the two minute drill, so maybe we would do well running that kind of offense. Vertical passing game with lots of deep shots? We have Mike Wallace. Power inside running game behind our elite center and play-action passing with our QB who has a 122 passer rating off of play action?
The opportunities are there. Unfortunately, we'd rather run a slow paced offense with an empty set backfield throwing 6 yard curls to guys like Brian Hartline and Charles Clay. Thrilling.
The Mike Sherman Experience.
I could not have said it any better.
