Since Our Dolphins Aren't Going Anywhere This Season...?

I agree to a point. The great things about the Lions is that they are young and HUNGRY (pardon the pun).

They play with heart and fire. Schwartz has lit a fire under those guys and they come ready to play every week. They believe in Stafford, and he plays like he's in full command. Unafraid to make mistakes, and is willing to put the game on his shoulders regardless of the punishing price. It rallies team to all give the best and rip their guts out. They may not go all the way.. but I certainly am rooting for them!

what i see is a young team that takes the first half off every week...that kind of stuff will catch up with you in the postseason...

What I see is a young team that is maturing very quickly, and I think that has as much to do with Stafford as anything.

I swore vehemently he was a bad pick when they got him, and I was dead wrong.
If that average O-Line can keep creating the chemistry they are starting to show, and make both holes for Best and keep Stafford healthy, I think the sky is the limit.

They aren't playing complete games as of yet, but they look better, and just as important, more convinced each and every week.
This is a real team, not smoke and mirrors.
They have not only started hitting very nicely on drafts (I think they have had two of the most successful drafts of late that I can remember) and just as important, have used FA to bring in GREAT complimentary players that contribute each and every week.

i don't think the lions will be able to run the ball when its one and done time either...jahvid best b/t the tackles...that won't last long...stafford also is erratic at times...bails out...misses throws a guy with his physical abilities should make...and that secondary and lb unit are exploitable...

I think that D-line easily makes a decent D-backfield, a very good one. Seen it with just about every successful defense of recent memory.
Pittsburgh
Green Bay
NY Jests

The big difference with those teams is indeed the Linebacking corp.

As I stated already, I think they are pretty solid in 2 of the 3 spots. I think Tullock was a brilliant aquisitin, and I think Levy is good in this system. They could still use an upgrade here, but I think its "Good enough" especially at this juncture.
They have great depth behind an incredible Front 4. When Fairley starts playing, are you kidding me? Thats an incredible line.

I hope so too, the Lions are a great team and have a nice young nucleus. I really think they can get deep into the playoffs since there really arent any dominant teams in the NFC besides Packers and Saints. They can really go point for point with the Saints since their D isnt too good, and Lion's D is solid. Unless the Eagles get it together and win out, I do not see a team besides GB that can really destroy the Lions, and I see them winning a lot of games this year. They have def grown on me, since I can relate to their fans who have been crying for a good football team! GO LIons!!!

they'll ship out corey williams in the next year or so...they're set up on the dline no doubt but lets also remember it was the bears woeful oline we are talking about...the lbs are all average and carp wears a target...just matter of time b4 it gets ugly with him...

i watched this team play the cowboys and barring romo giving the game to the lions that sucker had blow out written all over it...double calvin johnson wherever he goes and exploit the right side of that oline and your in business against detroit...business

Yep, agreed on all these points. As I stated, it really depends on keeping Stafford upright and for him to keep growing.

I wouldnt dispose losing or not to the Cowboys. They (Cowboys) did the exact same thing with the very mediocre Jests. You should listen to the Cowgirl fans cry here in Dallas

Anywho, not saying the Lions are the end all-beat all, but in this day and age, I also don't think they are winning games by smoke and mirrors. They are currently 4-0. They could melt down and lose the next 4, but I dont think they will

nah...i think the lions are finally here to stay but are they ready to make a deep playoff run...i don't think just yet...but again the right matchup comes in that building and yeah they could make some noise

if stafford gets hurt though you'll need a parachute for how fast people jump off that bandwagon

the other thing though is that secondary can be exploited...just cause the bears who have to have one of the worst wr units in football didn't do it don't mean it won't happen...and soon

Been a fan of them since Barry Sanders-how good do you think they will be when Fairley gets in there on the d-line?
