Don't expect too much from Green in Miami

Trent Green has had a great career and I feel like he would have a good season or two in him if he was in the right situation. Miami is not that situation.

Green has been blessed with superior running games throughout his career in Washington, St. Louis and Kansas City. And new Dolphins coach Cam Cameron hopes he'll have another one this year in Miami. But I don't think former No. 2 overall pick Ronnie Brown and Miami's line will get the job done in 2007. Brown is big like the Chiefs' Larry Johnson, but he doesn't show the same kind of burst as LJ. And Brown is a surprisingly ineffective red-zone back (he ran for five touchdowns last season).

And while Green proved he could excel with average receivers in K.C., he won't have a Tony Gonzalez at tight end to bail him out. Cameron signed David Martin to replace Randy McMichael at TE in Miami, but Martin hasn't topped 27 receptions in six NFL seasons and will hardly duplicate the success of Gonzalez or Cameron's former tight end Antonio Gates.

I think we have to be in the redzone alot more for Ronnie to get redzone touches.

i cant wait for ronnie to break out this year, everyone is saying how he stinks but just wait. Green never had weapons at WR we have booker n ginn n hagan. Jus wait, he'll be fine

This guy is Nelly Negative. Brown had 5 TD's cuz he was hurt and missed some time and we have never had the line that KC has. It is just not a fair comparison. David Martin was also a backup to Bubba Franks in GB. What backup TE gets more then 30 catches a season? I trust Cam Cameron more then this rat...

Have we ever have a worse offseason in the eyes of the media ever? The negative vibe we get from this site and all the media is unreal.

Has it ever been this bad?

Um...2004 offseason. How quickly we forget.

For those who prefer to make money the easy way, there is nothing better than being a Dolphins fan. Since the media thinks we are the worst team every year, the public believes it so Vegas adjusts every line accordingly.

I'm not saying the Dolphins cover every game but as long as we are realistic each game/year, it' easy money.

For example, vegas has us at 7 wins. Or at least they did as of yesterday. Come on now!! That is a slap in the face. Especially when you look at our schedule.

So to the media...the public...vegas...I say keep doubting us!! It will make our season that much sweeter!!

The bottom line is he is a guy you love to have on the field as he is well respected, hard nosed "football guy" he brings instant leadership and will only help the team.He won't come in and hurt the team by any means. You KNOW your getting a winner.

Trent knows the offense and knows how things work in the NFL - that's why he is here - to teach Beck those things.

Now - the article is spot on with Green always having great running games and the fact that Brown has done nothing to prove that he can get it done. Blame the OL, the scheme, the back, the QB, whatever. Point is - we don't have a running attack that scares anyone. It will be up to Cam, Brown and the OL to change that perception.

WELL SAID

I think Ronnie Brown scared the Bears ferocious superbowl caliber defense last year....to the tune of 150+ yds? granted one game, but against a solid scheme in Chicago.
A great training camp by this team, offense & defense is gonna be huge this year. I give Trent Green a lil more credit than just having a terrific o-line in KC for his success. I continue to trust Cameron ......
