"Following is my evaluation of the 2008 NFL draft, based on personal preference of various teams. Usually I use letter grades, but that system is now in the garbage because of what Peter King wrote about how nonsensical it is. I hate nonsense."

My Numero Uno

Miami Dolphins: I like this because the character of the drafter was reflected in the picks. It was a Man's draft, make that He-Man. Big guys. Serious. Top guy on the board, Jake Long, stands 6-7 and weighs 315. The defensive end, Phillip Merling, is not what you'd call a nimble-footed pass rusher. He likes to stack 'em up at the point. A two-gapper. Oh yes, he's 6-4½, 275. The QB, drafted with Miami's second pick in the second round, Chad Henne, is 226. He's got a gun. I mean for an arm. I assume he'll challenge for the job, or something more sinister. The average of the nine chaps selected is 6-3, 274. My kind of draft, boy.

I got faith in Bill.

And a theory....

My theory is that the talent and the mind-set infused THIS year will not only make us a better team, but will inject enough work ethic and testosterone into our existing players that we will get those "mediocre" on-the-edge players pumped up and playing closer to their REAL potential.

This team is now NO b.s

I expect greater things from all, especially guys like Roth.

I have the faith.

I believe.

Go 'Fins.

I don't share your faith. Not after having so much faith in the previous two regimes. I hope it will work out, but I'm not accepting their decisions as correct just yet. I'll just wait and see how this plays out.

Uhh yeah, did this guy even watch the draft? I have nothing against what he said about the Phins, but WTF was he saying here?

"New Orleans Saints: Same type of story. Glenn Dorsey, the terrific DT from LSU, was their man. They even traded three places up, to seven, for a shot at him. Sorry, the Chiefs got there first. So New Orleans did a volte face and picked equally devastating -- well, almost -- Sedrick Ellis of USC."

Then he bashes the Chiefs because they didn't draft a QB, why not give Croyle a true shot? I don't see how you can bash KC's draft, but revere the TITANS of all teams.

What do you think he meant by this?

Maybe after Ryan KC ddi not see the others as upgrades to Croyle, not saying I agree but makes sense.

"or something more sinister."

...is he in Camp A (or was it Camp B?) who think there's a chance Chad could come in and take the starting job outright come week 1?

it really doesn't matter what anyone says at this point or what grades anyone gives to any team...you have to go out there and play and then in 2 or 3 years we'll know who had a good draft and who didn't.

Ozzy rules!!

What has Croyle done that justifies the Chiefs having faith in him. IMO Beck has a bigger upside, yet prior to the draft everyone was saying that QB was a major need on this team.
I didn't hear many people saying that Beck deserved a TRUE shot.
That's life in the NFL. It's a cruel business.

I can't believe we passed on Kevin Smith and Geno Hayes that draft sucked. Oh yeah and we traded L. Booker for a 4th round pick, we drafted him in the 3rd last year right?

We did. I didnt like the trade either but you have to think of it in terms of trading Lorenzo Booker for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele. I'll do that trade even as an avid Booker supporter
