You know i hate start another Dolphins Draft day threads...But the 2007 draft will be one of the most unique drafts I have been around ever...It is very deep and thus some very good players are going to be available in the late first, or even early second. I mean by now we usually all have a very good idea of who is going to taken first overall, however this year its 5 days until the draft and we still have no idea.
I have seen many posts saying we should trade up, which I think is dumb...You should never give up extra draft picks for unproven players, especially in this draft which is so deep with talent...So with that being said and all of us agreeing there will be good players available later in the first there is only two rational things to do...One, stay put and take one of the good players available at #9 or....Two...(my favorite option)....TRADE DOWN IF POSSIBLE...
With all things considered here is what we should all dream happens on draft day...With the first pick we should all hope Calvin goes number 1...This leaves Jamarcus Russell on the board...Many people are high on Jamarcus and have them rated number one on their board (at least number 1 Qb)...Everyone knows the Dolphins are high Brady Quinn, so if the Lions do indeed stay at number two and Oakland takes Jamarcus...Brady Quinn could be Detriots pick...So second we need Detriot to take Joe Thomas...Leaving Cleveland with Jamarcus Russell...Then this will leave Brady Quinn and Adrian Peterson on a freefall...At number 7, the Vikings will take Brady or Adrian...then Atlanta takes Landry and we are left with Brady Quinn (who is our target...or Adrian Peterson who is rated as high as number 2 on peoples boards and are coveted by both the Packers and Bills...
Now its simple...If Brady Quinn is there we draft him
...If Adrian Peterson is there, we have a bidding war between the Packer and Bills...We trade get another second and conditional picks next year...And we can draft the steal of the draft...Joe Staley...Kids probally the most athletic big man to come out of the draft in along time...Google him and just read...You will fall in love...He could anchor our Oline for years to come...
