Wide Receivers
Mike Wallace – Signed through 2017, $12.1m if on roster, $9.6m if off theroster (cutting him saves $25m over the next three years)
Jarvis Landry – signed through 2018
Brian Hartline – Signed through 2017, $7.3 if on the roster, $4.2 if off(cutting him saves $15.3m over the next three years)

Brandon Gibson – Signed through 2015, $4.2m on the roster $1moff the roster
Rishard Matthews – Signed through 2015
Matt Hazel – Signed through 2015
L`Damian Washington – PS

Where do we start? It’s hard to imagine that in an offense wherethe QB threw for 4,000 yards, 27 TD’s and a QPR of 92.8 that there is a clamoringto revamp the WR corps. Unfortunately many of the stats where empty stats that happenedbetween the 20’s. Miami visited the RZ more than any other team, which isgreat, but they were one of the worst teams in scoring RD TD’s which is a badand the reason they must revisit this unit. For the most part Miami’s receiversare small and not physical (yes Hartline is 6’2”, but plays more like he’s 5’11).Landry and Matthews play physical, but Matthews seems to be permanently in thedoghouse and Landry doesn’t have the height to be a RZ target.

As much as his last game antics were terrible, it would justcost the team too much to replace Wallace this year. I know football is anemotional game, but it’s also a business and Wallace’s contract was structuredto be three years so they will all need to kiss and make nice for 2015. BrandonGibson and Matthews are probably gone. Gibson cost too much to keep as a rolereceiver and Matthews doesn’t seem to be in favor of the coaching staff.Hartline is a solid #3/4, but not a $7m. I would be fine with telling him heneeds to take a pay cut, or be cut and good like finding work. He’s a hardworker, seems to be a good team guy and can play on ST if he’s in that role.

Miami MUST find a big receiver. I know they have Hazel and Washington, but they are both developmental guys and who knows what they can bring ifanything. Finding a RZ receiver must be a priority this off-season no matter ifit comes in free agency or the draft. I would love to see Andre Johnson orLarry Fitzgerald become cap casualties and Miami make a hard play for them. They both bring the size and veteran leadership this team needs.

If a big receiver can be signed in free agency then I don’tthink Miami has a desperate need to look at one of the top big receivers in thedraft and can use the first round pick on other areas of need like corner or DTthen look to take a receiver in a later round to develop.

Tight Ends
Dion Sims – signed through 2016
Arthur Lynch – signed through 2017
Charles Clay - UFA
Jake Stoneburner – PS

To be honest I would resign Charles Clay who wants to stay inMiami and call it a day here. You can’t fix everything in the off-season andClay paired with the emergence of Sims this year is a nice combination. I thinkLynch can provide more blocking and a big receiver in the RZ when he ishealthy. Who knows what if anything Stonebuner can give you, with a name likethat he should be a linebacker…

You bring up a valid point, with the players we have Thill still put up very nice numbers for a 3rd year QB. Can you imagine what this offense does once it fixes the Oline and gets a bruising RB to compliment Miller? I'd probably draft a big WR if we could find a way without ignoring the D, because we do NEED an endzone threat, Clay is just too short to be that guy and our WRs are also.

I think you go with Wallace, Landy, Hazel and take a long look at Mathews. Draft another guy or two and go with it.

Leave TE alone, as you said you cant fix everything and Clay and Sims are both good and you add lynch in next year coming of injury.

I think re-signing Clay and going with Clay, Sims and Lynch next year with an outside shot at Stoneburner making the squad is solid at TE...not spectacular since there's no real game breaker in that group but all very solid.

I think we have to get one of the top 3 WRs in the draft (Amari Cooper, Kevin White or DeVante Parker) and if you fail there you have to get either Jalean Strong or Green-Beckham. We need to add speed at WR as well. We need another guy that can run sub 4.5 and not have just Wallace as our speed receiver...when he didn't play in the 2nd half against the Jets Tannehill got lit up with the pass rush...that lack of a deep threat gave the Jets defense an advantage. Right now Hazel is the 2nd fastest receiver on the roster with a 4.50 40. If we get rid of two or three WRs (Gibson, Hartline and Matthews) then we need to draft two so maybe at that point if you've got your big WR then maybe you look at a Tyler Lockett, Philip Dorsett or Rannell Hall...or you could take another chance at a small school guy like Dezmin Lewis who's 6'4" 212 lbs with a large catch radius.

Yeah, agree with you. I gotta tell you the more I watch these big receivers the more Ty Montgomery is jumping off the screen more so than the others. I think Parker wins the battle at the point of the catch better than the rest, but Montgomery seems to get better separation than the others. He also returns kicks, which is nice, but could care less if he's lined up as the #2 but he does break a lot of tackles. He seems to be built thicker than the other guys especially in the thighs and see him running right through would be tacklers. If you get a chance check him out...I'd like to se what his clocked speed is, but his game speed seems to be good enough to get separation.

If the WR you draft can't contribute off the hop - Philbin and Hickey are gone - so IMHO they are going to GUN for wins (M Gordon, Parker, White,Cooper and should these be gone) they will just try to bring a starter in on D - see they need Ws to stay

I agree. We've missed that element since Brandon Marshall was traded. I'd hang onto Mike Wallace and add either Kevin White or DaVante Parker in R1. Another option might be a trade down for more picks and draft someone like Delvin Funchess. Miami could use the rest of the draft (or most of the draft) to get better on defense.
