Either the Dolphins got lucky or had tremendous foresight in adding Slaton because tailback Daniel Thomas, who is leading the team with 202 rushing yards, had his practice participation limited on Thursday because the hamstring injury he's been nursing for three weeks flared up.Slaton said he prides himself "on making plays," and despite going through some injury woes during his four-year NFL career, he claims he's feeling as good as he has in a long time.http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...notes-0930-20110929,0,2013040.story?track=rss

I would much rather give the ball to Bush/Slaton then Bush/Hilliard. Hilliard isnt a bad player, but hes really more of a full back. I hope we can get some good production out of Slaton, and it can honestly never hurt to have too many good RBs on your roster. If he pans out maybe we can use Bush more on PR/KRs and plays more designed to his abilities.

Slain is a beast he has just been hurt and then got overshadowed by foster.

Steve Slaton reminds me of Joesph Addi, not going to run over just make you try and tackle out of position.

I am among the minority, but I think Slayton will be a good player for us. He runs hard and he has decent speed.
I think he will surprise.

I think hes a decent player. I think he has good speed and ability but I don't expect much at all from him. He won't see many touches and I don't see him put in positions to make big plays. Hope I'm wrong.

the good thing it is a low risk high reward move

I also don't expect much from Slaton this week. Tony will play it safe and go with Bush and Hilliard.

It's just silly considering the deals Ronnie and Ricky got. We're paying more for Slaton. He does have some game breaking ability, and is young with alot of upside. The obvious concerns are injuries and ball security.

He could get some carries going forward, regardless of whether thomas or bush is hurt. Our backfield would be a perfect blend, ranging from the extremely verastile/powerful Hilliard, to your typical scatback in Reggie Bush. This week I'm confident relying on Hilliard to handle the tough yards, but who knows how Slaton or Bush will perform.

I think the Texans are like Denver used to be, their all oline any decent back is going to pile up yardage with them.
