"slaton" ??

Honestly, I don't think his chances are that good. I have to think Bush, Miller and Thomas are all a lock, barring injuries. As much as a disappointment as Thomas has been, he has shown some flashes and I don't see the coaching staff giving up on him just yet. He hasn't been completely healthy. Messam's performance is crucial to Slaton's future with this team, IMO. I like Slaton too, but I just don't think he will be a Dolphin this year.
 
Slaton almost won one of my fantasy leagues by himself a few years ago. I could only wish he could do the same for the us, but i believe his chances staying in miami are slim.
 
Very good article. Slaton said the zone blocking is what he's used to and he was excited about the new offense.
The last RB spot might go to him or Messam so he's got a shot. The problem is he's not a power back and they need one.
 
I think Slaton's chances of being on the roster as very good. He played well at times for the Dolphins and this scheme fits him perfectly. Miller and Thomas have injury concerns (Thomas couldn't stay off the training table last year and Miller had always had shoulder concerns) so it would be good to keep a versatile guy like Slaton on the team who can run between the tackles but also play on 3rd down. I have seen nothing on Messam yet, so i'm anxiously awaiting the Preseason to get a glimpse of this guy against NFL players.
 
So we're going to have the Texans offense? I'm down for that.
 
Outside of Reggie, great uncertainty at RB ... so Slaton always has that chance.
 
It will probably come down to keeping him or an extra receiver. The problem is he does not contribtute on special teams. That may be the determining factor.

Did return kick offs for Texans.......but probably not a factor in whether he stays
 
I would put Slaton, Bush and Miller fighting for 2 spots while Messam and Thomas fight for another spot. I dont see the Fins keeping Slaton, Bush AND Miller to let go the the other 2... I think Bush is a given and Miller as a rookie thats just been drafted leave Slaton in a real uphill battle IMO.
 
Sounds about right. We do need someone who can get a yard on 3rd and short or goalline like Polite used to.
