MIKE WALKER

Height: 6-2
Weight: 200 lbs

2005 = 64 receptions; 855 yards; 13.4 avg; 9 TD's (prior to injury)
2006 = 90 receptions; 1178 yards; 13.1 avg; 7 TD's

I don't know if you all remember this guy out of the University of Central FL. He was was a definite mid-round pick last year at WR before he went down with injury and was forced to come back for his senior season. He lead UCF all season before Brandon Marshall stepped up as the #1 after Walker went down. Both guys played huge roles in getting UCF all the way to the C-USA championship last year.

I thought we should have grabbed Brandon Marshall in the late rounds last year after he came on strong last season and in UCF's bowl. The Bronco's beat us to it and he had a pretty good rookie season.

I think Walker is a guy we definitely should consider with one of our late round picks. His draft stock could rise pending his performance at the combine. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that he also played CB in 2004 where he lead the team with 3 INT's while playing both sides of the ball. This guy has tremendous talent!!

90 Reception is tremendous. Let's do it!

if he is anything like brandon marshall i definately wouldnt mind him on our roster...the thing is if we run the same crappy offense as last year there is really no need for another average widereceiver...

Walker was actually UCF's go to receiver before his injury '05. He was the deep threat while Marshall was the possession receiver.

Yea Walker was definitely Schneider and Moffet's go-to guy before he went down with injury. As I mentioned before, the guy definitely has tremendous talent... I hope the Fins take a look!!

really like the guy but than again UCF is my school

this guy could be the next Colston, he is a projected 7th rounder but he is going to explode onto the scene given the right team gets him

Walker is much faster and probably has better hands. He has been better then Marshall all along, and I am not trying to take anything away from Marshall.

Just a little update on Walker... He ran a 4.35 forty-yard dash at the combine!!

Same time as Calvin Johnson. Faster than Meachem, Breaston, Moore, Bowe, and Gonzalez. Heh in no way am I comparing him to the same level as Calvin, but as I stated in the original post... this guy has tremendous talent. I hope the Fins keep an eye on him in the later rounds.

Here's a list on all the WR's times at the combine:
Anthony Gonzales Ohio St. 4.44 Aundrae Allison East Carolina 4.39 Calvin Johnson Georgia Tech 4.35 Chandler Williams Florida Int. 4.42 Chansi Stuckey Clemson 4.60 Courtney Taylor Auburn 4.50 Craig Davis Louisiana St. 4.46 David Clowney Virginia Tech 4.36 Dwayne Bowe Louisiana State 4.51 Jason Hill Washington St. 4.32 Jayson Swain Tennessee 4.67 Jerard Rabb Boise State 4.54 Johnnie Lee Higgins UTEP 4.48 Jonathan Holland Louisiana Tech 4.45 Laurent Robinson Illinois St. 4.38 Legedu Naanee Boise St. 4.41 Marquay McDaniel Hampton 4.51 Mike Mason Tennessee St. 4.40 Mike Walker Central Florida 4.35 Onrea Jones Hampton 4.45 Paul Williams Fresno St. 4.45 Robert Meachem Tennessee 4.39 Ryan Moore Miami (FL) 4.59 Ryne Robinson Miami-Ohio 4.47 Steve Breaston Michigan 4.41 Steve Smith Southern Cal 4.44 Syndric Steptoe Arizona 4.52 Syvelle Newton South Carolina 4.70 Yamon Figurs Kansas St. 4.30

Walker's 1.54/2.53/4.35 10/20/40 split shows that once he gets going he won't be caught. However it also shows that it takes him a few steps to get up to speed. So the question is...if a CB can get a good jam on him how effective will his speed be?

what round is yamon figurs projected to go? This Walker with his speed looks decent, except for that excellent split analysis.
