Can someone please explain to me why we let guests view this site when there are big news events happening?

Not to be a complete dick but as a paying member I think it's the least I can ask for, and actually the only thing I ask for. I don't think it's fair. You don't have the capacity/requirements to handle the load so can't we pull out some kind of a compromise?

I had a real hard time getting on this weekend, I don't know what could be done?

This should be the last slow big event we will have here at the site. The staff in the middle of doing a upgrade. Once this upgrade is done, there should be no more problems like we have been having. I apologize for the delays, and frustration, but this will get a whole lot better.

Okay thank you.. Had to vent a bit

We didn't get all the pieces in place early enough before the draft to pull the trigger and do the major part of the upgrades and be certain enough that we would have all the bugs out before the draft. As a result, we decided to tough out the draft on this current set up and do the upgrades once the fervor died down.

Our main goal was to be 100% certain that the site would be available for the draft. For the most part, the site performed nicely considering that we had 1000 people online clicking refresh ever 30 seconds.

I didn't get on except for a moment until the wee hours of this morning and then didn't even try this afternoon. I have come to expect the slowness as folks flood to the site. Happy to hear the improvements are proceeding. I do hope that we get ahead of the curve with this round of improvements. In the past the improvements have been installed that should last for awhile only to be out paced by the growth of this site. Excellence attracts visitors so I do hope this will be the last time a major event happens without reliable access to our favorite site.

We are the second largest football board in the world and only slightly behind the Redskins 'official' board, owned and operated by millionaire Dan Snyder.

Considering that we are privately owned and financed by donations and the sweat of volunteers, we still cut quite a presence.

We have plans to buy three incredible servers and other network upgrades at a considerable cost. That investment was financed in large by Matt and by Muck's company and by ad dollars not yet collected. The membership fees are on track to cover our bandwidth costs and not much more.

That said, there is no way we could survive without the sage advise of the Premium members, the generous donations of the VIP'ers and the support this group of diehard fans.

I can't begin to tell you how much this Premium membership means...on many levels, to the health and popularity of FinHeaven.

I actually thought it was all brought on by Raul winning the Premie draft board. 150,000 phinbux paid out to the Rev and you guys couldnt afford to pay the bill now...

Thanks again for the hard work Mal and company. We do know you guys work hard to keep this place humming..

:bighug:

Guys thanks for the hard work. Glitches happen and the site was up most of the time when I was loging on from my PDA at 5 AM draft day til late last night. :)

I apologize if my comments were understood to be a criticism of the fine work you guys do. That was not my intention. Frustrated because I couldn't get to my favorite site? Of course! But I greatly appreciate all the work you do and recognize how little financial reward you get from it (like none?). Thanks for all you do!

No, dear brother...that wasn't my intent. I just wanted to give an update and to thank all the senior members for their part in keeping this site together.

We could not survive without you and the rest of this group who form the backbone that is Finheaven.

I'm glad there was no misunderstanding. Best to you!
