After Ronnie fumbled at the 1, Smiley went to grab the fumble. He was then pushed in the back. The ref was standing right there. Now let me ask you, because I obviously don't know the answer to this.

Are you allowed to push a player in the back while that player is recovering a fumble???????

What could the "foul" possibly be? Interfering with a fumble recovery???

You shouldn't be allowed to push someone in the back like that and have the ruling go in your favor. Sorry.....I think that is BS, and it should have been called.

You can't push in the back on every other play, so why should a player be allowed to do it then? If someone is in front of you and has their back to you, you should not be allowed to just push them in the back.

Should you not be allowed to lay the smack down on a wideout when the ball is tipped? I see that all the time and MUCH more potential to do serious bodily damage than pushing a guy during a fumble.

It's just how it is. Defenders should be allowed to hit the **** out of QB's, but they can't. Can't have everything go our way.

I'm not talking about injury. I'm talking about us coming away with 7 points instead of San Diego having the ball at the 20.

Well if smiley fell on the ball the right way, it would have been six lol....You have to know exactly where the chalk is and I guess fall towards the sidelines in a fetal position...I dunno....

I think if it had been a wideout and not a 300 lb lineman, we would have probably had a much better chance at scoring there.

Either way, that was last week. Whatever...time to move on...

So what would you think if the other team was in that situation, running for the ball but one of our players pushed?

You probably wouldn't care about that not being a rule.

I don't understand why it needs to be a penalty. Is he supposed to just stand there and watch him run to the ball?

Your a funny dude.:thanks:

It is actually a penalty to push or block in the back.

I kept screaming at the f*****g refs!!!

Incidentally, holding a player from getting to the ball would also have been ok.... no joke. However I think they'd draw the line at horse collaring... but just a guess.
