You can't compare the two as they have different games. It would be like trying to compare A Winfield to Bobby Taylor.. And you just can't do that. It's silly to compare them as each guy can do what the other guy can't.
Davis just turned 21 recently and it's mind boggling to think how good he can be with some more NFL experience..
Think about that, he's 21 and was a mere 20 yrs of age when he was drafted (he was one of the youngest draftees in the draft).. Think back when you were 20.. lol
The guy reminds me of an Antoine Winfield type who is a great tackler and great against the run. Good coverage, and I love Vontae's speed.. His closing speed, especially, is already at an elite level.
The dude is lightning fast when he gets after someone.
But what's most impressive to me is how he's so aggressive at such a young age.. He loves sticking his nose in there. And that is a great sign for a rookie. Especially a kid who's just 21 with all that natural talent to boot.
He's got the mentality and make-up of a true winner. And a guy who'll be a Bad A$$ corner for a long time.
And Sean Smith is a 6'4 corner who can move very fluidly for a guy that size.. Excellent ball skills (which I think will show more as time goes along and he gains experience). Like the great corner Bobby Taylor. Smith has 35 inch arms which is the average arm length of a man who's 6'8".. You cannot teach a man who is so big to move as well as he can.
S Smith has freakish ability for a corner that size.
Sean Smith and Vontae were the two best man to man corners in the draft.. The others like Butler, M Jenkins, DJ Moore, A Smith etc were zone type corners. Miami was very smart to get S Smith and Davis in the 2009 draft because there aren't corners like them in the 2010 draft.
Very smart move to get them when (and where) they did..
