In week 4 (Bills), did Smith out-play Owens, or did Owens had a lackluster performance?

By a combination of age plus surrounding talent, TO is declining pretty rapidly. He already begun his decline last year, and this year it seems like it'll be forgettable.

That said, and w/o trying to sound too homerish, Sean Smith is an EFFING beast.

The concept of John Doe reciever getting 60 yards and several catches against Joe Blow corner is boardering on "toast" for the corner. If you take into account it was Terrell Owens, loud-mouthed-trash-talking-perrenial All-Pro reciever Terrell Owens vs a rookie corner, Smith is a freak of nature.

Smith gave up one big play where he was stride for stride with Owens and had him blanketed but the pass was underthrown to the back shoulder and TO came back for it while Smith kept running...

great coverage by the rookie, but he'll learn to recognize that route as he gets more experience... besides that he did very well...

add pro bowl to sean smith's resume

TO is washed up. gives up on plays he knows are not for him.

for all accounts i THINK that T.O. is still a very talented WR...he at this point have given up on his career on field and is looking forward to his career on camera. So he could care less about his on field product..but his game face is for the cameras before and after the game.

with that said. IF TO actually gave a f*** bout the game itself? Smith would have been in a bit of problems BUT he played really well

The Bills QB sucks, a better QB would have found TO more.

TO is not my favorite player but he is in a horrible situation over there.
I mean what kind of team waits until right before the real season starts to
change their Offensive Coordinator?

Since the Bills suck, and everyone knows that they have no chance to make the playoffs, the coaching staff over there should have made every possible effort to get TO's his catch last week. He will probably end up just going through the motions like Moss when Randy was at Oakland.

if TO was in his Prime he would have Killed Smith

.....And considering how quickly Smith is becoming a shutdown corner, If Sean had 1 years EXP, you would never have heard the name T.O once, while he was covering him....a lot of ifs, but what we do know is, Sean did very well against a top receiver yesterday.

Do you understand what 'shutdown corner' means?

It means that the WR is shut down for ZERO catches.

He can't be a shutdown corner unless he holds the WR to no catches or only negligable catches. You're jumping the gun, & not by a few seconds either.

He hasn't even done this one time yet. He is a rookie, he's only played in 3 games so far. :ponder: :rolleyes2:

Naw Smith got beat a couple of times but he played very good. Everyone get done by elite receivers once in a while. But Smith kept his composure and he has a short memory which is great.
