With all the craziness surrounding our beloved Dolphins this week...I truly believe that this ordeal in front of our team contains many life lessons for everyone that is involved or spectating from the outside.

Management - Realize that this is a place of employment and needs to operate as one. Everyone has a right to be able to show up for work, in a locker room, or an office, and be able to do their jobs without having to deal with this kind of garbage.

Coaching - Will learn to not see the forest for the trees. Penn State thought to do more, investigate deeper, or just speak up!

Players - Come away with the understanding that there are lines, and we need to respect those lines. They will also learn a little bit from point #2. SPEAK UP, LEAD YOUR TEAM! The risk of doing NOTHING is higher than the risk of speaking up for your teammates.

Fans
- I've seen a ton of support for the players, for the team, and us fans from other teams. Everyone is learning something from this. This is also sparking many conversations that need to take place in schools, in the media, in the locker rooms.

Media -
They will continue to be the media

In the end, this team will have a stronger character, will play harder together, and may even make the playoffs. Adversity always brings the best in MOST people. As my title says, the best sailors were not made by sailing calm waters. It is through the adversity that they faced during their journey that their character and instinct formed. The same will prove to hold true for these young fighting Phins.
