the N E W Dolphilbins
Every year when the big name free agents cash in elsewhere, the fans rip the GM. This went on long before Ireland. Everyone wants to be the Redskins in the offseason, but the Patriots in the post season. Ain't Hapnin. Sure we all want Peyton, Super Mario, Carl Nicks, Eric Winston, Vjax to replace BMarsh... etc. But try being realistic. It seems some get their hopes up so high only set themselves up for a hilarious meltdown, like you've seen this week.
We had to get rid of Marshall. We got him on a discount, and you see why. We got two 3rds in return for the original two 2nds..... after two thousand yard seasons. The guys going to most likely be suspended, and there's little hope he'll ever get his act together. Cry about it all you want, it was his last strike and we're better off. People want to hang the GM over this, however. Ross or Philbin could have said.. "that's it".
As for the QB chase........ we haven't lost out on anyone yet, except Henne, and the guy many cried for 6 months ago.... Orton. Remember, Ireland was ripped for checking out Orton and then "settling for Moore". There is just this overwhelming rush of impatience and doubt around here. We don't even know what the plan is. If you hang on every little report that flies out there, your going to lose your mind, as we've seen.
So far we have ensured that Coyle will have one of the most talented Defenses, one that should easily be better than last years, which is exciting. Solai is back, and i think Marshall is a huge upgrade to the secondary. I could see him having an impact similar to Brock Marion !
Philbin and Sherman will re-design the offense to their liking. It takes time. But they will tell Ireland what they want to do and he will act accordingly. The truth is Miami needs to develop a young QB. Joe wants this to work, he wants to coach here a long time. You wonder how we'll score points without Brandon, who was a terrible red-zone target, by the way. We can replace those 6 TDs ( and even convert some of the dropped ones ) by keeping Bess involved, and utilizing our Tight ends. Our offense wont go thru Marshall anymore, we'll have as diverse a passing game as possible, like GB.
So lets have some patience, the off season is a long process, and the final product is not due until September. I for one am excited for the 2012 season, because we might actually be in better shape now, with Moore in our back pocket, than we have been in a decade. A full offseason should only help.
Take one look at the Jets, you'll feel alot better !
