Do you think the refs were actually going to penalize the bills for fans throwing the snowballs or was that just a scare tactic to get them to stop.? Has that ever happened before where a team was penalized because of their fans behavior? What’s totally moronic about the idiot bills fans is that they easily could have hit one of THEIR players

I wonder how many fans, if any, were ejected

Shula and the Dolphins were threatened with a penalty against the Bears in '85 if the crowd didn't quite down when the Bears were on offense. Shula made a half hearted attempt several times.

The bears milked that as long as they could before running a play.

If I remember, we were penalized for crowd noise back in the Orange Bowl. Times sure have changed since then.

I remember that too, Shula raised his hands up to try to quiet the crowd I think but it only got louder.. lol

What irritated me the most about the snow (ice) ball throwing, is that all the conversation revolves around “players on the sideline are getting hit.” But little was mentioned about the ice balls being thrown at Hill while he was trying to make a catch in the endzone. While it didn’t seem to have an impact on that play, the fact that the fans could have directly impacted a receiver’s ability to score, should have gotten a better reaction from the commentators than just laughing about him having to dodge snowballs.

Didn’t we get a penalty at the Orange Bowl on a Monday night game vs Philly?
There’s a great clip of that sequence where Shula or Arnsparger smirking in enjoyment as Jaworswki wouldn’t run a play I think 3 times in a row. I don’t think we got a penalty though

It’s a safety thing. Someone could get hit in the eye - player, ref, coach, staffer, camera operator, press, cheerleader etc. Not a good look. People should know better

I'm not a big fan of penalizing the team for fan behavior. I mean, Fins fans could have thrown snowballs. They should have threatened to empty the stadium.

You're talking about people who think it's a good idea to live in Buffalo and you expect them to know better about ANYTHING?
