I really wasn't expecting much out of the Chargers tonight, I did think they'd pull off the W, but not by such a landslide. I think if we played like we did yesterday it's still a possibility especially with it being at home. I was really surprised by their play calling tonight though very solid on both sides of the ball, and they we're like an INT machine (granted Favre helped them with that one).

I was really hoping to go in to that game and destroy them, but now I'm not so sure. What do you guys think? I still think we have decent odds as long as that high school team that wore our jerseys during the Arizona game isn't playing.

I think the Chargers will beat us handily.. they are a much better team than New England. Theres always a chance though..

Even after Sunday, I am still not overly optimistic, but I will say that if we do win, that will be a strong statement about how competitive we are, because the Charger's two losses were very close, and the Denver loss was the result of a technicality after a bad call. Still, they seem to be giving up a lot of points...

Games are played on Sunday(and monday) but not this coming sunday, I am taking a week to enjoy the win before talking about performing surgery on the Chargers. I suggest you all do the same. With that said, the Fins are done enjoying the win, they are getting mentaly prepared for San Diego right now. It is impossible for me to predict a loss in any game, no matter who, when or where we play. After what we all witnessed yesterday it would be blasphemy to predict a loss. Enjoy this week finfans, keep up with the high morale, at least for the next week, then we can talk about how bad we will beat San Diego.

ALLRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTTT MIAMI!

I saw the jets-chargers game. It looked like the jets did a decent job of stuffing the chargers running game, but couldn't get to Rivers. If we can shut down the running game the same way they did and get a sack or 2 and not give Rivers all day to find a reciever we'll have a shot. I think the chargers win, but as long as we don't get blown out it still gives our team something to rally around.

Well lets break this down from a SD perspective. But before we do that lets look at the intangibles from this week. The pats had a big game for first in the division the week before vs the jets and have a big game next week vs the chargers. So the game vs us was looked at as a easy game and a game that was hard to get up for. We got them at the best possible time. Add to that they were home and they thought there was no way on earth the team that got crushed the week before could pull the upset and I don't blame them.
Now jump ahead, and you will see the chargers had a big monday night game and then this week they get the pats. So they get two big games and then have to travel accross the country to play the lowely fins in a game that should be easy. If they can beat the pats on a short week then I think we have a pretty good chance to pull another upset. Add to that we have two week to prepare for them and I think we have a 40/60 chance or maybe even a 45/55 chance to pull back to back HUGE upsets. Another thing we have going for us is how we are used to running vs a 3-4 defense in practice so maybe we can get the LBs blocked a little better.
Bottom line is we will again be a huge dog on our home field vs one of the best teams in the NFL, but we will again have some of the important intangibles on our side. I will look forward to the game with cautious optimism.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that whomever scores the most points will win.

Chargers have a solid offense but there defense gives up a lot of points. Right now I think the Chargers win, but if our D smacks the Bolts in the mouth, we may be competitive. I still don't have a lot of faith in the O.

P.S. You guys should check out www.jetsinsider.com The threads are wild tonight after there loss. About half of them are wishing they had Penne back, half are giving up on Vernon "Casper" Gholston. Hilarious reading. It is always great to be a Dolphins fan but today there is something extra special about it. :beer1:

The Jets arent a very good team. They somehow beat us the first game and it was our first as a team. I think the win is kinda deceptive and the jets are overhyped... the chargers are well capable of putting up those #'s

I believe we can have a chance vs the chargers.. the team is coming together but... its still a semi long shot.

i think we can do all right. We are decent at stopping the run and tomilson is slowed by deion sanders disease (aka turf toe). If we can score points i think we might be all right.

Early on we did until we lost Kris Jenkins then SD began to run all over us. The ley to this game was the turnovers. We turned it over too much. They scored 31 points at the half and 28 came on TOs. We had a fumble that set them up deep in our terriotry, an INT returned for a TD, an INT that set them up in our territory and we tied an onside Kick and failed giving them the ball on our side of the field. In the competitive portion of the game SD only scored 10 points when they started a drive in their own territory. The message is don't turn it over and you'll have a chance.

If we keep this game close we have a chance. If it turns into a shootout we have no shot. The good thing that I saw, and I think somebody mentioned it, is that the Chargers were giving up a lot of plays. I have a feeling that we can move the ball on this Charger defense, the problem will be stopping their powerful offense. We need another coaching masterpiece from our staff to go along with flawless execution of the gameplan. Let's see what happens!...Go Phins!

Alot of our O came in garbage time so keep that in mind. It was 38-14 in the 4th and our scores came on an INt return for a TD and a 4 yd TD drive. The SD D played great but I don't think they are as good as they played, our inept O contributed alot to them looking so good.
