Can we call Allen a bust? Even though he hasn't played a down on defense. I'm tired of hearing that he was "behind" because of a 12 day hold out. If he's not an upgrade over Eddie Jackson or Tavares Tillman then he's a bust, in my opinion. Some of this is frustration talking but I cannot stand seeing blown coverages, missed assignment, and mental lapses anymore from our seconday....unless it comes from our rookie 1st round pick. That, at least, can be chalked up to learning on the job. These "veterans" are certainly not teaching Jason Allen anything that I want him to learn!

I hate being negative but this secondary consistently has disappointed.

he actually came in and played at safety as our DB depth was hurt previously or during this game.

Missed that....but I'd still like to see him as a 1st or 2nd option at least. Not just an emergency fill in. He cannot be worse than what is running out there now.

Didn't you know that Saban's expertize is as a back-field coach. How could anything be wrong with our CB's or safeties?

Well besides Allen I think we could replace Tillman with an orange traffic cone and still make out better

Yeah.....and if it were in a game where the Dolphins were wearing the orange jerseys, no one would even notice the difference.

LMAO :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol:

Allen may have started off behind because of his hold out, but he remains behind because Saban tried to turn him into a corner during training camp and the preseason. I even remember Saban explaining that they had to move him back to Safety and that his time at corner set him back.

Saban has made some pretty poor decisions...I really hope he learns from them.

I just cannot accept that a 12 day hold out would set Allen back this far...he was a safety/corner at UT so its not a foreign concept. As a 1st round pick, he has to be better than Eddie Jackson or Tillman.

I consider rookie mistakes, looking into the backfield and biting on a double move or thinking that you have help over the top when you actually don't. But these are mistakes that our, so called, "veterans" are making...so put our #16 pick out there and let him learn on the job or at least earn some of that fat signing bonus that he held out for!
