Yeah it may be alittle late for this thread, but I did not know of this site when he ''resigned''.

He resigned of his own free will. Wayne H. didn't want him to quit when he did because no team wants to start over in the middle of the season. Wanny may have been fired after the season and he felt it was as good as any to leave when he did.

The "official" story was that Wanny went to Wayne, and Wayne told him he would be fired at the end of the season. Wanny then decided to abandon ship.

In big boy land, this happens alot.

A guy just isn't working but, he hasn't done some outlandish thing you can fire him for.

A deal is struck....He gets nice cushy severance package, and, the company doesn't have to pay unemploymnet....Plus, he gets to say he "left", which looks better on a resume.
