so how did henne look?

He looked better than Johnson who had a couple easy int's dropped (shocker I know), a couple passes that if Henne had made everyone would be talking about how terrible he was. He looked real good especially considering he had a nice, deep pass dropped by Gates and the offensive line was worthless (another shocker). The passing game and the defense looks good. The defense still can't take advantage of bad passes, the offense line still cant get out of its own way. Im all for starting Garner at RG and Carey/Murtha at RT. If we cant run for ****, let's at least get a little better pass protection.

As I suggested a few weeks ago after the first game, Henne looks much more comfortable in Daboll's offense and it definitely shows. The o-line play tonight was absolutely horrid and Henne took some sacks that I have to go back and see if these were coverage sacks. They looked like sacks as the result of breakdown of guys on the oline though. I am not sure if Henne had any outlets in the flat on those plays and took the sacks as a result.

Many times tonight he was able to go through his progressions and the long ball looked great, especially the td to Marshall although Marshall made it happen with YAC and sheer talent. Henne also was able to draw offensive PI penalties with throws that played to mismatches.

While the typical Matt Ryan homers will be quick to point out flaws instead of the good things Henne does, overall I think Henne has shown some definite improvement and maturity over last year. It is pre-season so hopefully it translates into the regular season. One thing for sure, the Bush factor is helping Henne for sure.

Henne looked solid, ironically not a major concern at this point but of course this being the Dolphins we anwer a question with more questions. OL was pathetic, and overall lack of a pass rush are a bit disconcerting.

I don't know why they moved Carey inside. That was bad. We need Long back badly. The left side will be fixed when he returns. If Carey went back to RT, we would just need to patch the RG position.

Henne played pretty well. He is progressing great, and that is what matters to me! If only the O-line was existent.:(

Carey doesnt look like he could handle RG or RT. He looks lathargic and he's constantly picking himself up off the ground, usually 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Think it's time to see if O'Hara is still interested. We need some sort of offensive line to create movement and holes for our running backs. They're running into a wall.

its always something we can never have everything on the same page....ps these refs blow!

Henne's stat line of 10-13 175 yds would have been 11-14 +200 yds had Marshall not gotten cute with the football. Encouraging.

On a different note, the OL looked to be at the worst ive seen in some time. TB defense may be good, but i cant imagine this team is competitive this year with blocking like that. Pathetic... It really made me second guess what position i'd like to address first in F/A or draft. Vernon Carey was either on his *** or turned around more often than not. I cannot wait until that guy is no longer on the team...

Not sure how true it is because I didn't see it for myself, but I heard Gates dropped a deep ball as well..

He looked good..Him and Marshall were hooking up quite a bit..he had to eat the ball a few times..also we had no running game..I really wonder how strong this d line is for tampa...they certainly looked strong.

Add to that the screen that Bush dropped that literally hit him in the face that he was wide open in space with 2 o-lineman in front of him.

What was encouraging to see is that Henne seems to be able to correctly make the blitz reads at the line, something he hasn't been doing in the past or maybe wasn't a part of Henning's offense or not given emphasis. Odd though because pretty much all the rest of the qb's in the league do this...that or their center does. Also there was a play that Henne had a blitz up the gut with a defender in his face he was able to make the hot read and throw a nice ball to Gates. In years past, Henne would have ducked and took the sac or threw that dumb pick to a linebacker.

I also liked the fact that Henne and Marshall appear to be somewhat on the same page. Like I stated before, he was actually using Marshall for mismatches and drawing the PI call or at least recognizing single coverage and attempting to let Brandon do what he does best and that is to go up and get the ball. I don't want to hear anything about the defender misplaying the ball or how easily the ball could have been picked. All NFL qb's, especially the great ones, throw the ball up on mismatches and draw PI or at least attempt to on purpose. Was nice to see Henne finally recognizing that and making a play.

also, if i have to hear one more time how the refs throwing flags on every play, are getting into regular season mode, im gonna be sick. and, did anyone else notice Greise's multiple screw ups in the booth. sure they were little, like how benny sapp is coming off an impressive rookie year with the phins, also he screwed up a players first name (forget who)... but are we as fans going to have to get used to that once the season comes? I know its impossible to replace the Mad Dog in the booth on game days, but lets at least go with some one who has a burning fire for the game. No offense to Greise, but the guy has the demeanor of a Driver's Ed. instructor...
