So how many O-linemen does Sabban keep?

Well I think that the starting line will be.....

LT- l.J Shelton
LG- Jeno James
C- Rex Hadnot
RG- Bennie Anderson
RT- Vernon Carey

Dont know what back ups he'll keep.

hes going to keep almost everyone we have on the o line. if they don't make the roster, they'll still make our practice squads. i assure you, o line is very dependant on depth.

We usually keep around eight or nine.

Starters:

LJ Shelton
Jeno James
Rex Hadnot
Bennie Anderson
Vernon Carey

Backups:

(locks)
Mike Pearson
Damion McIntosh
Joe Toledo

(fighting for a spot)
Seth McKinney
Alanzo Eiphram
Wade Smith

How can seth not be a lock for a back-up spot when he started last year? Not saying you are wrong, just wondering why?

Because he is not a "Houck" offensive lineman. He is not the big and dominating center like Saban and Houck like.
Heck, he's not even as vocal or cerebral as they'd like.

He's all we had last year until we decided to move Rex to center.

He's got a shot to make the team, maybe a good one. I just put him as "fighting for a spot" because we still have Eiphram and some other depth. Seth will have to impress this training camp to become a lock to make the team.

Edit: I forgot about Anthony Alabi also. He's another one the coaches like. There's a lot of competition on the o-line this year. Seth's going to have to earn his spot.

You Alonzo Ephraim is not on our team anymore, right?

Edit: Also, Emanuel Akah will be around, provided he's a quality guard, because he won't count against the 53 man roster since he was signed from Europe.

You really think that Pearson and McIntosh are locks DD28?

Alabi has got the LT spot locked up because he is young and Houck still wants to develop him into a starter in the leauge someday. I'd say we give him one more year to see how well he can develop.

I think that McIntosh and Pearson are both fighting for the backup RT spot and the loser IMO, gets cut. I'm guessing it will be Pearson because he hasn't stayed healthy the past two years and McIntosh is a good starter and he will be an even better backup. My guess would be that we keep....

LT- LJ Shelton-Anthony Alabi
LG- Jeno James-Seth McKinney
C- Rex Hadnot
RG- Bennie Anderson-Seth McKinney-Joe Toledo
RT- Vernon Carey- Damion McIntosh

Nah, I haven't looked at the "official" roster in a while.

Where did Ephraim go?

Well that increases Seth's chances right there, but he still won't be handed anything.

I'm pretty sure that if LJ Shelton got hurt they'd put Damion McIntosh in this year.

Alabi is still a developing player.

Ephraim contract expired and we chose not to resign him.

Well that's true.

The only thing that we would have problem with is that we can't keep 5 T's when we got McKinney, Anderson, James and Toledo at G's. We wouldn't have enough room for all of those guys on the roster.

That's why I think that McIntosh and Pearson are competing for a spot and only one of them will make the team. Backups like McKinney or Anderson(whoever doesn't win the RG starting spot), Alabi and Toledo are the only backups that are locks to make the team.

Wade Smith is listed as a center, so if he can impress then IMO that would further hurt McKinney's chances of a spot on the roster.
