I guess at some point, you just have to listen to them.

TIDE KEEPS ON ROLLING No matter how often Dolphins coach Nick Saban says he is not interested in the vacant Alabama coaching job, the school will not listen.
A source close to the situation said Wednesday that Alabama keeps on making runs at Saban and that it will not, under any circumstances, take no for an answer.
One NFL head coach even said he had been told that Saban was getting closer to accepting a job at Alabama, even though he has repeatedly and adamantly denied any interest in the job.
But each time he has turned down the school, Alabama has come back again and again with more lucrative offers. The school has some serious cash to throw around and it keeps offering to throw it Saban's way.
The question now is, does it have enough to lure away the big fish.

Some Saban Quotes on the subject:
(On his speaking with Peter King about Alabama) – “I’m not talking about that guys. I think I’ve addressed that enough. When does this become a dead story to me? I’ve already said what I said. I talked to our team. I don’t think I need to continue to address this. I’m about trying to beat Buffalo and focusing on that. I don’t see the issue here. I don’t see any reason to talk about it.”

(On in his conversation with Peter King not clearly answering whether or not he would be the coach for the Dolphins next season) – “I, in no way, wanted to indicate to him or anybody else that there was any possibility of that. I have no intentions of going anywhere. Hell, they may not want me here after this season. Did you ever think of that?”

On if Alabama offered him the head coaching job) – “I never talked to Alabama, so when you talk about getting offered a job or I hear numbers, I hear all kinds of stuff – I really learn more about it from the media. When I walked in the door last night after 10 o’clock my mom says, ‘well your picture is on the news. You’re interviewing for a job.’ I said, ‘I don’t think so. Where did you get that from?’ I was here working all night. It’s amazing that some things get out there that really aren’t so. They’re really not so. I’m flattered that they may have been interested in me, but it never really ever progressed because we just never let it progress. That’s the way it is. I have nothing to hide relative to all this or anything else. There is a lot of speculation, a lot of rumor and a lot of innuendo. It’s unsubstantiated in many, many ways. It’s unfortunate that my family has to hear that or even our team has to hear things like that when it really just isn’t true. You have to always consider the source. That’s what I’m told.”

(On if Alabama spoke with Jimmy Sexton) – “I’m sure they talked to Jimmy. They called Jimmy and said, ‘is Nick interested?’ and Jimmy said, ‘no.’ Jimmy asked me on several occasions and I said, ‘no. I’m interested in staying here. We’re in a middle of a season. I’m committed to our team and our players trying to do what we have to do.’ It’s not a very good time to think about things like that to be honest with you. You’re focused on what you’re doing right now. That’s the most important thing that you’re doing.”

(On if he is upset that various news sources keep reporting that he has an interest in the Alabama job) – “It’s nothing I can control. It’s really nothing I can control. I have to focus and worry about the things that I can control. I can’t control that, what some Alabama newspaper puts in the paper that’s probably unsubstantiated from anybody that knows what’s really happening. It’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous. I haven’t even talked to anybody and all of a sudden someone’s coming here to interview me. It’s ridiculous. It’s like a lot of things, people read it in the paper they think it’s true. You guys do that too. Sometimes you put stuff in the paper that really is not substantiated either. Not to point any fingers at anybody.”

(On if he has spoken to his players about the rumors) – “I think that kind of stuff is family business that shouldn’t be talked about publicly. I’m always going to tell the players whatever I think I need to tell them to make sure their mind’s at ease and they can focus on what they need to focus on. I don’t think that’s something that needs to be talked about publicly.”

(On clarifying what he means by ‘staying until the job is finished’) – “We came here because there was a challenge here to try to rebuild this franchise and rebuild this organization to being successful and a consistent winner. Taking it from where it was to where it used to be. I think that’s what everybody wants to try to accomplish. That’s what we’re trying to accomplish. We’re going to continue to work to try to make improvements as we go – in-season as we play, out of season as we have an opportunity to make personnel additions or whatever. That’s our commitment. That’s our goal. That’s what we’re trying to do.”

2 things on this.

One, I'm told that Alabama isn't going away on this and two, Mal Moore is coming to see Saban with a new offer.

A supplementary 3rd point is that Jimmy Sexton is very involved and the funeral of Dr Punch was possibly quite important last week.

How can another coach from another organization get inside information that Saban is going to leave I believe that story is full of BS.

Hey Boomer forgive the ignorance but who is Mal Moore and what is the significance of a funeral?

Boom...

I'm interested to see you weigh in on this...

I think Saban is headed Alabama...which is a crime and a shame...
no college program should be able to highjack a coach in year two of a five year deal...especially when the pro program comes with full personnel control.

I am guessing that Sexton makes even more money with a new job for Saban which is why he has interest in driving this...

Here are my questions:
1. Don't you think Miami should be proactive and remove Saban if this progresses?
2. If he leaves...what will be the reprecussions...there are some crazy fans out there and I don't think that some of them will be too happy at this.
3. If it happens, are we the laughingstock of the NFL?
4. If Saban leaves, shouldn't some penalty measures be leavied against Alabama from this organization...for example, I wouldn't ever draft one of their players again...that might seem like cutting off your hand but there are enough talented players elsewhere.

After telling Wayne straight up that he is not going anywhere he should get poop canned for lying to his boss.

Mal Moore is the Bama AD.

Punch is the former Tide doctor who died last week and I hear at his funeral last Saturday, Moore mentioned the name of the coach that they think will take over, for whom they think it's close to being a done deal. It was from a small band of names. One of those names was Nick Saban.

If you lose your HC to a college ball club, you may not be the laughingstock of the NFL . . . only the AFC.

:D

I find it strange that Saban would take a job a college coach already rejected.
