So if Manning doesn't come here, then what?

If we don't get Manning, I wouldn't make the trade for Flynn. 2 games is not enough to properly evaluate a QB. I think Moore is ready to make the leap into the next level of QBs. I gotta say, I think he played better than expected last season when he was the backup and got thrown into the starting role.
Matt Moore sucks.

Typical unthinking post i/m/o!

Too many dimwits want to ignore actual facts. Step back, take a deep breath, and LOOK AT those facts.

Last season, (1) MOORE arrived here toward the middle of a very short preseason, and was the back-up QB, getting only back-up QB's "reps", until HENNE went down. So much for "timing", and "chemistry"!!! (2) Beyond that, he had "The Meatball" as a HC, and the lingering stench of PARCELLSBALL to deal with. (3) the rest of the MIAMI organization did zippo as well: that includes stupid ROSS, who got cheap in F/A! The result? No quality interior OLman for US!!! There were 6 very solid F/A Gs: I still remember 4 of them! (GALLERY, COLLEDGE, and BOTH of ATLANTA's starting Gs) The whole damn League knew that MIAMI's interior OL was a shambles, so...HOW MANY did we even make a legit offer to? Yeah, NONE. There were a couple more solid OLmen available as "cuts" were made. HOW MANY OF THEM did MIAMI make a legit offer to? Yeah, NONE!!! So, toward the very end of the preseason, MIAMI signs...(drum roll, please!) (4) COLUMBO!!! A real p/o/s. And to enable said p/o/s to play, our OL GURU, a/k/a "The Meatball", moved a serviceable, veteran RT, V CAREY, to RG, where he hadn't played since "The U". Brilliant! The result of the COLUMBO-CAREY experiment? Predictable. By my count, the COLUMBO-CAREY fiasco accounted for 7+ stalled drives/game and sometimes turnovers, and their pathetic play cost MIAMI AT LEAST 5 games: CLEVELAND, DENVER, DALLAS, The GIANTS, and N.E.II! MOORE deserved to be 10-2, and HENNE should have had at least 1 "W". And since SD and HOUSTON each beat MIAMI by 6 points, those 2 games might have been "W"s as well.

Thanks a lot, ROSS, you dumb schmuck.

relax people. if we dont get manning, we will get flynn. why wouldnt flynn want to join his old coach. he also knows that our franchise is at least willing to spend its money on talent, which cleveland isnt. i dont know if flynn is the answer, but if we want him we got him.

Robert Griffin III was my first choice as well. Even though the Redskins gave up a lot, I think that trade will be a positive move for them over the long-term. As far as Miami goes, I'd say Matt Flynn if Peyton Manning chooses another team. Flynn, to me, is similar to a Joe Theisman. I know that's an old school comparison, but he has a similar skill set IMO. If Flynn goes elsewhere maybe you sign Campbell short-term and draft Ryan Tannehill.

If the Dolphins don't truly go all in for Peyton Manning they truly are stupid. A healthy Manning has a bigger impact on the 2012 Dolphins than Jim Harbaugh and Jeff Fisher would have combined. You're talking about having a QB who can be mentioned in the same breath with just 3 other guys. Every other option scares the hell out of me. If we overpay for Matt Flynn and he ends up being mediocre and we stick with him anyway, like Sparano with Henne, the Joe Philbin regime will likely be here for 2 or 3 years. If these guys truly believe in Flynn I'm in but if they pay him Kolb money just because he's familiar with the system, I disagree with that. I know nothing about Tannehill except that he wasn't even being mentioned with the first round QB's before other guys didn't declare for the 2012 draft. I agree with the poster who said wwe probably aren't doing squat in 2012 without Peyton Manning so if he falls through I stick with $3,000,000 Matt Moore and try again next offseason. Afterall as long as Philbin avoids going like 1-15 or 4-12 he'll get a free pass anyway.

Moore is slightly above average. That's what I see when I watch him and that's what his numbers show. Ok he ranked 12th in passing last year. That's slightly above middle of the pack. I don't know about his ceiling but I do know we were an average team with him playing as well as he has ever played.

Guys if we stick with Matt Moore no one will go to the games. At least with Flynn they'll be a bump in ticket sales for Ross.

I think last year he was good but based on his history he is a pretty average qb at best but maybe he is developing. He has only one year he came out of camp a starter and he was horrid that year

Who said anything about tannehill at 8? We can get him with in the teens if we trade back and acquire more pics so we can address the ss position along with another passrusher to help wake... That would solve all your issue with taking tannehill with the 8th pick.

Rumor has it that Seattle would like to draft him and was thinking about moving up to snag him. Do you really think they want another seaosn with Tavaris Jackson at the helm?

Yea its possible but even at our pick it seems way too high for Tanneyhill

You really think ticket sales are going to jump when we could of had Manning instead of Flynn? Hell no.

I didn't say I would want Tanneyhill at 8, there were reports, that Miami or otehr teams liked him that much, they would spend a top 10 pick on him. I'm not sold on the kid either.

It's not Matt Moore's fault it is the teams for fielding a team without a Franchise QB. It's been so many years, it is now the teams fault and it looks like it is still not a top priority for them. I say good for Washington at least they have conviction.
