I really like Ronnie Brown as our starting running back...but if he goes down for several games due to injury....who is gonna step up? I admit I was really hoping for Ricky & Ronnie sharing the load this year, but unlikely to happen now I'm guessing.

Who do you think can be the guy to step up, who can handle the blitz pick-up, break tackles, etc.?
I thought Sammy Morris did a pretty good job last season.... But I see a considerable drop off this year. Cobbs? Booker? Chatman? Maybe Kyle Eckel, he did a nice job couple of years back running the ball for Navy?
Who do you think is gonna be the guy?

sorry

Maybe Cam will watch other teams roster
for cuts made b4 the Season

because their nothing out there At the moment

Lorenzo Booker is the man....

he have all the skills to become a good backup in the nfl.he runs well and catches the ball well also...

remember he used to find the holes by himself bcs he didnt have a good o-line :cooldude:

Booker and Chatman would share the load.
I don't see Booker as a guy breaking tackles, but really more of a special teams player...maybe I'm wrong
To be honest I don't know much about Chatman...was he with the Pats at one point? Would enjoy hearing what others think of Chatman...good or bad?

The report on Booker is that is is much stronger than he appears. If he can pick up the blitz he could do okay for a few games. I don't see him being an every down kind of back, though.

That sounds familiar. Brown and Morris did that all last year.

Booker and Chatman will be fine to split, plus there is always someone to bring in.

chatman was with the chargers and LT's back up a few years ago, i think he had a good YPC too

So if Larry Johnson goes down? So if Peyton Manning goes down? So if Tom Brady goes down? So if Shawn Alexander goes down? So if Ladainian Tomlinson goes down? So if Steven Jackson goes down? So if Carson Palmer goes down?

it'll have to be "by committee" at this point. the odds of one of those hopefuls to be able to handle the load for an entire game is unrealistic. i hope they wait and see if someone gets cut, thats the best option, to just add another solid RB to go along with a few others

Fact is, these are all franchise players, and if they go down, it will hurt the team guaranteed; it doesn't matter who the back up is, franchise players are not replaceable. If Jason Taylor goes down, our defense will go down.

You could only hope to have a good solid back up for Ronnie, and I think we have one in Lorenzo.
