So if the PATS lose today they are out, right?

If they lose they are 8-6, we are 9-5 along with the Jets. Even if NE wins next week they will be 9-6 and if us and the Jets lose we will all be 9-6. So the last game between us and the Jets will be for the AFC EAST TITLE. MEANING IF THE PATS LOSE TODAY THEY ARE OUT AND THE GAME ON DECEMBER 28TH AGAINST THE JETS WILL BE FOR THE AFC EAST TITLE?

IS THIS CORRECT?
 
No, If that happens and the Dolphins win against the Jets, New England wins the Division. Only if the Patriots lose to the Bills would the Fins beat the Patriots out on tiebreakers.
 
I think so, best case if loss today for New England is 10-6 record, 4-2 division, 6-6 conference. Whoever wins the final game of the season will beat that so yea, this is a must win for New England.

No, if they lose today it's done. Miami loses the next game but beats the Jets and they are 10-6 total record, 4-2 division, 7-5 conference. We would get in on the better conference record.
 
as long as both the fins and jets win next week then the winner of the week 17 game will be the AFC East champion regardless, but yes i think you are right but us losing to the Chiefs might screw up our tie breaker over the Jets as they would be losing to Seattle an NFC team. Look up the tiebreakers cause I'm not sure
 
If pats lose to either the raiders or bills then the kc game for us doesnt even matter and the jets game will be for the title. Lets just beat the chiefs and jets to win the title.

Dolphins win the tiebreaker if they win out, no matter what the patriots do.
 
YEZZIR you are right!

If the Patriots lose today and the Jets beat the dolphins the last game of the season, then the Jets win the division because of their divisional record.

If the Dolphins win the final game, all the teams will be tied because of their divisional record, the Jets will be eliminated in the common games played, and the Dolphins will win the division based on their conference record because the dolphins will have a worse case 7-5 conference record while the patriots will have a best case 6-6 conference record.

So heres to the Patriots losing today and eliminating them from the playoff race!
 
14-0 New England in the first, game over.

We will move into a 9-5 tie across the board. KC looked good today, will be another grinder of a game.
 
Not looking good right now.I think Oakland forgot there was a game today.Also J Russel just sucks.New England's Defense is old, slow and beat up right now, a decent offense with a decent QB could take advantage of that.Lucky for the patsie's that they're playing the faiders who look like they'd rather be at home drinking and playing madden.
 
Pretty much has been covered already. If the Patsies lose then they would need to win out and hope that either the Fins or the Jets lose out.
 
Bottom line for us.....we NEED to win the next two games even if the Jets & Pats lose one. Tiebreakers are NOT our friend!!
 
Yes, Pats are playing to stay alive in the division, with one minor exception...

Even if they lose today, the Pats could win the division if the Jets-Fins game ends in a tie.

Otherwise, they'd be done.

Well I would hope or think at some point the Cardinals will get over the hump playing on the east coast and focus on playing well, which I believe they can or see why they can't. Next week, the right offense comes in for the Pats old, slow, beat up defense with that passing attack the Cardinals have and the stacked talenet they have for the WR corps.

I'm pretty sure they could lose to Arizona also and we still win the division because it would come down to the strength of victory . . . in this situation . . . The Dolphins would have beaten San Diego (who beat New England) and New England would have beaten Kansas City (who would have beaten Miami) . . . San Diego has the better record . . . meaning Miami had STRONGER victories. Miami wins the division.

So New England can lose ANY of the final 3.
