Our offensive line has more questions than than ever before in the last couple of years. Other than Jake Long and Pouncey, there is no one
out there that is expected to give a solid effort in any given sunday. Fasano is another player who shows up for one game and is never to be
found after that performance once every season. After his great performance a few weeks ago I am not really going to expect to see him again.

Then as sad as I feel about this, Marshall has been dropping passes that should never be dropped in the first place. The rest of our receivers are more
dependent on the equal distribution of offense across key positions such as the success of our quarterback and receiver. Our running back position is
another position that has some pretty solid question marks. Daniel Thomas when he plays he has shown to run through the tackles just fine. One thing
that I am worried is about his ability to stay healthy. Not a great situation for a rookie qb to step in for sure.

Then we have our defensive issues. We can't apply pressure up front, and our linebackers as a group play very inconsistent. We seem to have trouble covering some of the underneath routes and it has become a very nice target for quarterbacks. Other than wake and Karlos, I am not too optimistic about the 2 other positions. This is a defense where you need to have 4 linebackers than can play the run and play the pass efficiently. Then our defensive backs are probably the worst starting 4 of all the teams out there.

*4 out 6 positions on the offensive line have big question marks
*Questionable running game
*3 out of 4 positions on our defensive backfield are not looking very well
*2 out of 4 linebacker positions are questionable
*Average play in our defensive line

It would be tough to stomach coming into the league and joining this mess. This team needs a major overhaul from a coaching and management standpoint. This is why a guy like Tony and Ireland should not be taking a hold of this franchise anymore. They had a while to fix the issue already. Coming to this situation is torture for any rookie qb. This isn't Big Ben joining an already good steelers squad, or Joe Flacco joining a pretty solid team. Or Matt Ryan joining a talented offense. This is Luck joining an offense with more questions than a murder scene.

We still have to draft a LG, RG and a RT on the first round. Ireland, make it happen!

I think Indianapolis is proving right now how a really freaking good QB can masquerade offensive deficiencies until he goes out.

Jesus H Christ. How many ****ing times will this pathetic argument pop up? QB is BY FAR the most important position in the game. We are inadequate there. Why not start there and then plug holes? Thats the way good teams do it.

Look at every team with a great QB. How many of their teams are awful? None. A great QB hides a lot. A good QB makes it so that you dont have to play flawless ball in order to win. The Colts are living proof. Youd really think that Dolphins fans of all people would get it, but reality still eludes many people. HERP DERP PLUG HOLES FIRST HERP DERP! I mean, its worked so well this past decade for us, right? People need to pull their heads out their ***** and realize whats up. Its really not that hard to figure out. Teams with franchise QBs are always contending. Teams without them occasionally have a fluke season followed by an early playoff exit surrounded by years of being mediocre/pathetic.

Winner.

Really tired of this topic myself. This same logic is why we are 0-4. Great quarterbacks make other positions look great. Other positions playing great does not make a mediocre quarterback look great.

Examples of acquiring a quarterback first then fixing your other positions, see: Packers, Bills, Lions, Bucs, and Ravens.
Examples of acquiring other positions then trying to find a quarterback, see: Dolphins, Chiefs, Seahawks.

This literally isn't a hard concept to understand.

Carolina...they were GOD AWFUL last year...truly horrific to watch in every aspect of the game. They bring in Cam Newton and he has immediately made that team's offense respectable despite still having zero running game. HERP DERP They definitely should have went LT and plugged holes on defense and the Oline HERP DERP.

Detroit is another example. Not a very good OL but they got a franchise QB. If these turds pass on a franchise QB with the first round pick I will drop a duece in Ross' front yard.

Apparently it is...

Maybe I didn't make it clear but my whole point of this thread is to outline that regardless of who we draft. That guy will come to a team that is damaged enough to cause him harm. Your expectation is that we get a qb and we are gonna win automatically from what it sounds like. Are you freaking serious dude? This isn't Matt Ryan coming to a team with talented players, or Flacco coming to a team with talented players. I am for drafting a Qb or the best player available, but I am not optimistic our franchise will get anywhere. So my point of my argument is that even though we acquire a qb, our team is not going to go any further with all of these issues. We'll be seeing our nice prince on his back half of time with these horrible coaches we have under our wing. So this is more about expectations that are not right. Yes if we draft the guy our team will be better at one position. However, if you are setting yourself for that expectation then you are going
to be even more hurt when nothing works out.

So you are setting yourself the expectation that this team would be 4-0 because of one position? This team is pretty bad dude if you look at it. This includes our quarterback position of course.

You can say that to the 0-4 Colts...

Yea, I'd still take Luck if we had the chance. He might get tortured, so he better learn fast. It's worth the risk. Manning has an average team, but when he's in, they are an elite team. We need a QB that can manage the game as well as the best QB's do, and Luck goes to Stanford. Luck is a smart dude, with ALL the intangible physical tools.
