I'm a little unclear about the structure still. Grier got promoted to VP of football operations, but I haven't really been clear if that means he is leaving his GM duties as well. Will he still be doing everything he did before while also running the entire football operation or is he also going to look to hire a GM to handle some of the duties he did before?

They've already started the HC search, but I haven't heard anything about GM.

And apparently Ross is out of the decision making arena. His desire to make Gase the next HC is haunting him right now.
Ross needs to sit back and trust the guys who know.

He'll most probably hire someone to help him out, but dont expect a well known GM, those guys wont take that job...

I’m not really high on Grier either, but I’m happy that Ross seems to understand now what an NFL power structure should look like.

This. In past years there seemed like much finger pointing. Who was responsible for what and who was currying favor with Ross. Don't know whether Grier is the man either but from now on, at least we know who gets blame and praise.

He should hire or promote someone to be his assistant GM.

Someone with an excellent eye for talent, obviously.

I had read somewhere that Dan Marino was being promoted to VP. I have not seen that on this site though so I can’t confirm.

Chris Grier is perfect for the current job.

Ross didn't fire him because Ross did his homework and I guarantee he was told he has an excellent GM candidate already in-house, better than he could get going outside (from realistic options)

The problem was Mike Tannenbaum and more importantly Adam Gase. Neither guy had the personnel guns that Grier have yet both likely had a louder voice than him.

Obviously no guarantees, but I do believe Ross got this major step . . . .right.

Now it's time to get a head coach that is leader of men, and not just a known playcaller and doesn't need to be one either.

Then the coordinators and positional coaches, but that is secondary IMO.

So griers not hiring ehh i mean promoting one of his underlings to gm?

Assuming both responsibilities?

Front and center for all accountability (and blame) now.
