I mean he does lead the league in rushing tds now. I just love how reactinary statements like this sound. I will say though Clinton Portis has been a beast and is looking like an MVP this season and Adrian peterson still is beconming the elite back in the league.

Clinton Portis by far (not that I'm biased or anything).

The man leads the league in rushing, is second in the league with rushing TDs, and is the best blocking back in the league.

Lendale is at 3.9 a carry while CP is at 5.0 - you don't call a player the best in the league because he gets more TDs than someone else.....that's absurd.

good job picking up on the sarcasm.

he's mocking Dolphins fans who were calling Ronnie the best back in the league because he was leading in rushing TD's.

As for Portis being the best back in the league....you could certainly make the argument....but 'by far'? Hardly. He is having the best season, but that doesn't automatically make you the best back.

i think you can say by far. He is averaging 116 yards a game, 5.0 per carry and has 7 tds. Nobody is close at this point.

Burger was right. I was being sarcastic. At this point CP is doing what we wish our backs could do(although we have very good backs).

Sorry I missed it bro. I've seen a lot, I mean a LOT of stupid things said on message boards, especially ours lately, so I'm never sure :D

Yea the Ronnie is the best back in the league have got real quiet now. Cant we just be happy we have a good back without annointing him until he proves something.

Another thread devoted to knocking fellow Phin fans and Phin players? Shocking.

not knocking Ronnie just saying he is not the best back in the league. Any fan that thinks Ronnie is the best in the league is not using good judgement and is using his heart and not his head. There are alot of threads attacking Crowder as a player and yet you dont come out and say anything about it. I give credit where credit is due. just because Im a fan that does not make any player on my team the best.

My bigger issue is with the constant need to attempt and call out fellow fans, especially those who have the audacity to get excited about a player on their favorite team. It's classless.

As for players, I don't have any problem with criticism, but I do notice when some seem fixated on only being critical. There's nothing wrong with it (so long as it doesn't lead to insults, which it rarely if ever does with you), just makes me wonder why some only see garbage when they look at the players on their favorite team, regardless of actual success...that is until they go somewhere else, at which point it becomes a horrible idea to have let them go.

Is Ronnie the best in the league? I don't think so (I don't think it's possible to say who is overall). Has he been successful? Absolutely. If he remains healthy, which is the big question obviously, I feel he is easily one of the best in the league.

One thing is for sure, Lendale White is CLEARLY the fattest back in the league. I'm sure he's the top choice for the Dunkin Donut Athlete of the Year Award.

There are some(a small amount) very classles people on this site and I would not think Im one of them. I am attacked constantly by people because I dont have a popular opinion and I just try to present facts at hand for them to either use or not. I like ronnie he is a good back but the facts are he is healthy and he is 21st in the league in rushing yards. Ronnie at this point is truly not in a serious debate for who is the best.

That approach is no better than those who focus only on the number of touchdowns. It disregards the whole picture, which supports his status as one of the best, IMO. Yes, he's 21st in total rushing yards, but he's also 23rd in att/game at 14 (Williams has 10.7, which shows a pretty decent split of carries). Despite that, he's tied for 2nd in touchdowns, 6th for first downs, and has zero fumbles (knock on wood).

Sorry, but I just don't see what people have to complain about other than the fact that he could maybe get more carries and be involved in the passing game more, which he excelled at last year. That's a playcalling issue though, not a Ronnie Brown issue.

There have been games where they have given Ronnie carries. My point is you cannot claim him to be the best based on any statistic unless Tds are the statistic you want to lay your hat on. In that case Karim Abdul jabbar was a great back since he was so good at getting into the endzone. So is Lendale White better because he has more tds or is Felix jones the best back in the league because he averages 8.9 per carry. We can all claim that Ronnie is a good runningback and no one will argue but there is no basis to say he is a better or equal back to a Clinton Portis or even an Adrian Peterson. He has only 12 less carries than Brandon jacobs and not even close on yards and I seriosuly dont think of Jacobs as a better back. Ronnie has to prove he is really good over a full season and ranking 21st in rushing will not do that. Im pretty sure Ronnie would have got more carries if he had gained more than 27 yards this week on those carries. The approach is better because long term when people discuss runningbacks they discuss yardage not Tds in one given year.

You're right, there have been games where they gave Ronnie more carries, such as NE and SD when he put up 113 yards and 125 yards respectively.

And you ignore what I wrote entirely. It's amazing. Did I claim he was the best back? Nope. Can I specify that any clearer. I. did. not. claim. he's. the. best. :rolleyes2:

You seem fixated on the TD's for some reason, yet that was only one of several statistics I mentioned in arguing that he is one of the top in the league (again, please, for the love of god note that I did not say he's the best. Jeebus.).

I also noted that you don't consider any of the circumstances, and you continue to prove that. You focus on the last game in which Ronnie Brown put up 27 yards on very limited carries against the best rushing defense in the league. The passing game was doing absolutely nothing to decommit the Ravens from the run. And this all coming off an injury that many thought (and a couple hoped, am I right?) would end his career. Nobody could have run well in such circomstances. Nobody.

The best approach is to consider all the information, not one stat, whether that be yards or TD's.

I'm not sure what you're going for here? Are you hoping to hear someone agree with you and believe Ronnie sucks? Good luck with that.
