First one was running the ball on 3rd and 8 in the last possession LOL Nice trust in your QB Philbin. We get that first down game is over. Second that dumb timeout when we just made Rodgers fumble, they were so confused but Philbin is like I got you Rodgers. It did look like our defense was gassed but it was one play left. The offense always gets the benefit of the timeouts not the defense.

Third calling another timeout in the end zone so we can have wheeler by himself against a TE... Oh yeah wheeler can cover LOL. I do not even want to talk about grimes and Finnegan they both were getting the business all day. Another thing... We have Mccain and we barley use him, Do not know why but ask Philbin. He played in the last packers possession! But was in coverage??? lmao Coyle is very creative.

Philbin has no trust in Tannehill, His management during end of halfs is terrible. Then he goes out saying ohh packers deserved to win LOL yeah with all the mistakes you made they have better won.

On to the next one, that is all I can say.

I still don't get why he took a timeout before the punt just let clock run out take delay

I have my doubts about Philbin, but here's why I think we lost the game:

- Tannehill throws the ball away stopping the clock instead of tacking a sack and taking time off the clock during our last possesion.
- Terrbile punt coverage before the final Green Bay drive. Our gunner was completely unblocked/uncovered the entire stretch and he couldn't make the solo tackle.
- We didnt recover the fumble on the Aaron Rodgers strip sack
- Brent Grimes slipped and allowed a 1st down pass play to keep the final drive alive.
- Courtland Finnegan pushed the WR out of bounds on the fake spike instead of keeping him in bounds...game over right there if he keeps him in bounds.
- Philip Wheeler did not even contest the 3 yard route by Quarless for the final TD. In baseball they call that "struck out looking".
- We couldn't get 1 yard on that 4th and Goal attempt in the 1st half.
- Tannehill's 2nd quarter interception in our own territory which lead to a Green Bay FG.

This game didn't hinge on a late TO call or a decision to run the ball on 3rd and 9. Our players lost this game for us. We had every opportunity to win this game and we failed.

That is true but at the same time what philbin did and does makes no sense, his management in closing games or first halfs are downright wtf. No confidence in your QB at all, sorry he does not inspire or motivate this team at all.. Always coming out flat is no excuse.

The game hinged on the TO call just as much or more so than any of the things you listed.

I'm with you on the coming out flat part, we have started slow way too many times and thatch on the coaching staff, but not calling a TO before the final play yesterday doesn't change the game imo. What would have directly changed the game is any one of the plays I mentioned above.

It doesnt hinge on that TO because you dont know what would have happened if we didnt call a TO. If no TO was called, I'd bet $100 they still throw it to Wheeler, and thats a TD virtually every time.

I think we are talking about different TOs. I meants the one on 4th and 10.

In the case of that one, its possible that GB converts the 4th and 10 if we dont call a TO, but we took it upon ourselves to greatly increase their probability of converting. That TO was inept.

The TO on the goal line I dont have a problem with. But by damn how do you come out a TO and have Wheeler covering a guy out wide :bobdole:

Green Bay converting two 4th downs on their final drive is essentially why Miami lost. As we've already discussed there's blame to go around for everyone. Prevent them from converting 4th and 10 and it's game over.

I'm barely hanging on to the Philbin bandwagon. Barely. He's made too many mistakes, and for him to be still making them is inexcusable. Rushers gassed or not gassed, you do not give an offense playing on the road extra time outs in a 2 minute drill. Especially a cold weather team playing in Florida. Stupid stupid stupid. You let the crowd stay into it, you keep the heat on them, blitz a corner if your normal rushers are gassed.

I need to see dramatic improvement from Philbing the 2nd half of this season or its time to move on. I'm so sick of bad clock management, going away from things that are working. After the Marino fake spike legend....no way in hell any Dolphin player should not be ready to go at the snap of the ball. Coaching, in my opinion, is a big part of the reason we are no better than a .500 team at this point.

Was looking at the game log from last years victory over the Chargers (20-16)
The game followed the exact same script as the GB loss this year.
We had the ball with 4 minutes left with 4 point lead and the offense couldn't close the game out.
We got 2 1st downs but then threw an incomplete pass and got sacked when we could have run the ball and ran the clock down to a minute.
We gave the ball back to Chargers with 2 minutes left and they almost won the game. They ran out of time at our 25 yard line.

Seems Philbin didn't learn from the game against the Chargers last year. When you make mistakes and still win I guess the real lessons are not learned.
Shame we had to lose that Packer game. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

The worst philbin call of all time was vs the bears. 4 seconds left in half and he punts LMAO!!!! Dude just throw it in the endzone. Who cares at that point.

I much rather lose to packers then this chargers game. Chargers are in conference so it means more.

I don't know....fields needs as much game time as possible. dude has sucked recently, minus the jags game.

Before all of this the Packers were sending pressure every down and we weren't doing anything to account for it. No extra protection. No hot routes. No scrambling. Nothing. On the 2nd and 9 they sent 6 rushers to our 5 blockers and we made no adjustments or showed any urgency. Who's fault was this? I don't know but I'm guessing it was the players responsibility to make some adjustments.

That second and nine was the down that cost us the game.

As far as Philbin goes they killed us in time of possession, turnover margin and passer rating, yet we had a 4 point lead with 3 minutes left. I would argue coaching was the only reason we were even in that game. What can you all point to as the reason we had the lead under those circumstances?
