I watch these and I get excited that he'll do something next week! And then I watch the game and realize he'll get his usual 2 catches for 30 something yards. And the irony that some of his best catches were with Cleo Lemon at QB. TG will also get that one somewhat big return and a couple of boneheaded returns. Oh ya and the inevitable drop. My expectations for the guy went down so much. First I was hoping for a Desean Jackson-type. Then I tried for a Devin Hester/Josh Cribbs mold. Now I'm hoping for a Devery Henderson-type. Comes up big with a huge play once every couple of games. I'll take that for now!
 
you cant beat yourself up watching Ted Ginn college highlights, he wont ever look that explosive in the NFL.

I get my hopes up every sunday as well. I would still want to keep him around for one more season. I really thought that this was going to be the year and it has just got like u said "tragic". I would have liked to see him in the WC as the swing man. I say give the guy one more year.
 
I have to say that even though Deshaun has made some really bad choices, you can see and hear that he's not afraid. He just saunters into the bar and pulls his guns as it pleases him.

So you must think every track star on earth has great potential ?

a track star does not automatically make a great "football player"... not in the Pro's. There are tons of (bad) players that were track stars over the years who totally stunk it up on the football field.. this is nothing new

And then when you add a guy who lacks fundamentals, on top of a learning disability AKA he's as dumb as a brick, and then add the fact that he is scared to death to get breathed on - well it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that he wouldn't amount to much in this league.

We all "hoped" over the last couple years.. But no one should be surprised (as you are).

what im saying is by looking at that video.. u seem a FOOTBALL PLAYER and not a TRACK STAR.. i was saying that i WISH we saw more of that and less of TROY WILLIAMSON
 
That video is painful to watch.

I'm not sure what to think of Ginn. He's openly admitted this is his worse season EVER playing football. Up until this season we haven't really had a big arm QB. Perhaps leaving Ginn on the roster and bringing in a #1 WR might help.

I can't really tell if we're just utilizing him wrong or if he's just playing scared. In that video you saw a few times where he got hit and just bounced back up. I'd really like for Ginn to become a Desean or a Steve Smith but unfortunately the clock is ticking.

i think it is a little of both
 
Teddy has electric speed and flashes of brilliance but he is streaky. I still live in hope that he can make a big contribution but he has disappointed many times. He hasn't dropped a ball in the last 5 games but every night people get on line with "Ginn sucks" threads. Many fans have given up on him and want blood.
He appears to have lost confidence this season and at times appears to be scared that he will get hurt. The irony is that he can be lethal on his day (just ask the Jets) because his speed is world class.
Yes he can produce highlights that look terrific in a video clip, but he has struggled to be consistent. He is what he is - Teddy is an enigma.
